Wednesday Evening Road Rides.

Our next evening ride will be on Wednesday, 16th September.

It’s a longer one this time and probably the last long evening ride for this year.

We’ll meet outside our shop at 6.15pm and ride 40–45 flat miles.

Here’s the route:

Richmond, Brompton-on-Swale, Scorton, Atley Hill, East Cowton, Great Smeaton, Hornby, Appleton Wiske, Deighton, Danby Wiske, Streetlam, Bolton-on-Swale, Scorton, The Crown , Brompton on Swale

Don’t forget your lights, and it might be a good idea to bring an energy bar or a gel.

Not got any bars or gels? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with Styrkr nutrition in store.

Latest renovation.

We recently picked up this very old Carlton from County Durham. Our customer has a lot of sentimental attachment to this bike and asked us if we could bring it back to life!

It is in a very poor condition and in desperate need of some TLC, and I must say that in all my 43 years of working in the cycling industry, I have never seen a bicycle in such poor condition.

However, when I spoke to our customer and listened to his story, I thought we had to do our best to get this back on the road for him.

Shot-blasting the frame may tell us a different story, but we are hopeful that we can do this and make our customer smile again.

🚴‍♂️ CAYGILL BIKE SHOP RIDES 🚴‍♀️

Our next evening road ride is Wednesday 9th September!

📍 Meet: Outside Caygill Bike Shop
🕕 Time: 6:15pm
🚴 Distance: Approximately 30 miles

We’ve got a lovely scenic route planned:

Richmond → Hudswell (via Theakston Lane) → Downholme → Half Penny House → Bellerby → Leyburn → Wensley → Preston-under-Scar → Half Penny House → over the moor → down Waitwith Bank → down Sleegill → up New Road → Richmond

And after all those miles and hills, we’ll enjoy a well-deserved drink at The Turf Hotel Richmond 🍻

All are welcome! 🙌

All we ask is that you’re comfortable riding around 30 miles, including some hills along the way.

Come along, enjoy the scenery, get some miles in and have a good laugh with fellow riders! 🚴‍♂️

If you're interested in joining us, you'll need to make your own way to Whinlatter Visitor Centre for 10am.

🥪 Food: It would be a good idea to bring some food with you, as the cafe can be quite expensive.

Parking: Chargeable at the centre.
