Ladies, Gentlemen and Gentle-people,
Following the UK's entry into a new national lockdown, I must sadly announce that KCLSU has instructed all clubs and student groups to cease any in-person events and activities.
I'm sorry to say that this means that we will be unable to run any sessions, from now until the start of next semester.
On a separate note, today is Remembrance Sunday in the UK.
Started in 1919 by King George V, to remember those that had died in the First World War, Remembrance Sunday has come to include the victims and survivors of all wars, past and present, across the globe.
This Wednesday (11th Nov) is the anniversary of the Armistice that marked the end of WW1, and at 11:00 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month, two minutes of silence will be held across the country. I encourage everyone to take this time to think about those who have suffered, and continue to suffer armed conflicts around the world. This is not in any way intended as a political statement.
If you have any questions about our closure or about how you can support the Royal British Legion (the primary charity associated with UK Remembrance), don't hesitate to contact us through the FB page or by email ([email protected]).
Lest we forget.
Matt Nixon-Welsby
KCLRPC President
