A week at Sol Centre 🌞

We’re feeling grateful for catch-ups in reception, moments of connection, sunnier weather brightening up the studio, our new sign bringing lots of joy, full shoe storage, and beautifully tidy props (thanks to our wonderful front desk and cleaning team ✨).

As a small studio, we’re still learning, growing and evolving every day. We won’t always get everything perfect, but we care deeply about the experience people have when they walk through our doors, and we’re always looking for ways to make it even better. Feedback is always gratefully received.

What are you feeling grateful for this week? 💜

A week before International Yoga Day, we’re taking a moment to reflect.

International Yoga Day has helped bring yoga to millions of people around the world. For that, many of us are grateful.

Yet yoga is far older than any government, nation, campaign, or annual celebration.

At its heart, yoga is not a performance, a political statement, or a demonstration of national pride. It is a practice of relationship: with ourselves, with one another, and with the world around us.

Yoga asks us to cultivate awareness, compassion, and non-harming. It asks us to pay attention to suffering rather than turn away from it.

For us, the most meaningful expressions of yoga are rarely found in large public events or social media campaigns. They are found in the quiet moments: showing up to practise when life is difficult, supporting a friend, taking a conscious breath, caring for a community, and learning to meet ourselves with honesty.

So as International Yoga Day approaches, we find ourselves asking:

What would it mean to celebrate yoga not just for one day, but every day?

What would it mean for yoga to bring us closer together rather than divide us?

What would it mean to live yoga, rather than simply celebrate it?

And so, don’t be surprised if next week, on International Yoga Day, we simply remain quiet.

Not out of indifference, but as a small act of reflection.

A gentle reminder to ourselves that yoga is bigger than any single day, bigger than any campaign, and bigger than any political agenda.

At Sol Centre, we celebrate yoga every day.

NEW CLASS: 4BEAT ▶️

4BEAT is a dynamic vinyasa practice inspired by the Rocket yoga system, where movement and breath are guided by the slow, steady beat of the music.

Set to a carefully chosen tempo (58–68 bpm), each breath follows a 4-count inhale and 4-count exhale, creating a flowing, meditative practice that helps you move with greater presence, focus, and ease.

As everyone in the room breathes and moves together, something special happens: a shared rhythm begins to emerge. The energy becomes collective, the practice feels unified, and the breath becomes more important than the complexity of any pose.

Expect strong, fluid movement, a powerful sense of connection, and the experience of moving as one.

Join Tola in her usual spot on Sundays at 12:30pm to experience the unity of 4BEAT. 🧡

Introducing Sol Flow 🌀

There’s something really special about practising the same sequence each week.

As the flow becomes familiar, you stop thinking so much about what’s coming next and start paying more attention to how you’re moving, breathing and feeling. The practice becomes more meditative, and it’s easier to notice the small changes happening over time.

That’s exactly why we’ve created Sol Flow - a set-sequence vinyasa class that offers both challenge and ease, with space to make the practice your own.

Join Lorna every Tuesday morning at 7:30am from next week ✨

✨ Are you curious about Ashtanga yoga?

In this three-part conversation, our teacher Emanuela Caletti shares her perspective on:
• What Ashtanga yoga is
• What makes it such a special practice
• Whether it might be the right practice for you

Ashtanga is often known for its structure and consistency, but at its heart it’s a deeply personal practice that invites self-awareness, patience, and growth. Emanuela thoughtfully explains how this traditional method can support practitioners of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Watch all three parts to learn more and discover whether Ashtanga might be a practice you’d like to explore.

🧘‍♀️ Emanuela teaches a 60-minute Ashtanga Yoga class every Friday at 8am. We’d love to welcome you to the mat.

A little piece of yoga history for your Sunday.

When yoga first became popular in Britain after the Second World War, most people didn’t practise in dedicated yoga studios. They gathered in school halls, community centres, and evening classes after work.

People came to stretch, breathe, and learn something new, but they also came to be with others.

More than sixty years later, that part of yoga still feels important.

In a world that can often feel rushed and disconnected, there is something powerful about sharing a practice. We arrive carrying different worries, stories, and experiences, yet for an hour we breathe together, move together, and create something larger than ourselves.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons yoga has endured for so long. Not only because of what happens on the mat, but because of the communities that form around it.

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday, and thank you for being part of ours. 🤍

It’s been a long week of maintenance work, but our cosy sauna and refreshing cold bucket shower will be back in action from Saturday! 🙌🏼

You don’t have to be a yogi or a sauna buff to use it - our intro offer, memberships and packs can all be used to unwind in our traditional Finnish sauna 🪵🧖

And as the weather warms up, nothing feels better than standing under this waterfall of refreshingly cold water between sauna rounds 😌🧊

We have bookable 60-minute sessions every morning and afternoon/evening. You can book via our app (search Sol Centre Studio in the Apple App Store) or through our website - see the link in bio 🔗
