Den Norske Klub - London

Den Norske Klub has been a central social meeting place for Norwegians in London for over 125 years.

The Klub (this is the original spelling from 1887) arranges dinners, lunches, talks and social events, offering opportunities for networking, meeting old friends and making new ones. Founded on 17th May 1887, DNK is the oldest club of its kind in the UK and a focal point for the Norwegian community in and around London. Membership brings many advantages, such as use of the club house at weekends including free use of the gym, swimming pool, sauna and squash courts; free entry to the Roof Garden night club; discounts on goods and services; reduced rate for 17. mai dinner and "julebord" as well as the quarterly magazine Northern Lights. The Klub has its premises at No. 4, St James’s Square, London W1. The building, a magnificent Grade II listed town house in a classical Georgian style, is owned and operated by the Naval & Military Club, also known as “The In & Out”.

Our Chair was delighted to be invited to a special evening with Francisco Corpas of Bodegas Marqués de Riscal , celebrating exceptional Spanish wines, fine dining and great company.

The evening began with a private tasting in the King Harald Room, followed by drinks in The Long Bar and an exceptional dinner in the Coffee Room, beautifully assembled by In & Out Club Chef Gary and thoughtfully paired with wines from Marqués de Riscal.

As a member of Den Norske Klub, evenings like this are part of what makes the Club community so special, with access to memorable dinners, exceptional venues and unique experiences shared in great company.

Wonderful food, outstanding service and a memorable evening of Spanish wine and hospitality.

🇳🇴 A full house for Fredagspils! 🍂

What a brilliant way to kick off the autumn at Den Norske Klub.

Last night we came together to celebrate the life of King Harald V and raise a glass to King Haakon VIII, surrounded by members, former Board members, old friends and plenty of new faces.

A joyful evening full of laughter, new connections and true Club spirit, followed by a fiercely competitive raffle with fantastic prizes from Valeri, Scandinavian Kitchen, Gusbourne and many more of our generous partners.

And, naturally, no Fredagspils is complete without a new Viking being crowned. ⚔️👑

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to make the Club such a special meeting place for the Norwegian community and friends of Norway in London.

It is with profound sadness that Den Norske Klub marks the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.

His Majesty was an Honorary Member of Den Norske Klub and held a special place in the life and history of our Norwegian community in London.

Together with our members, we join Norway in mourning and extend our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.

Hvil i fred, Deres Majestet. 🇳🇴

⚔️ What. A. Night. ⚔️

Yesterday’s Fredagspils had everything that makes our Club so special. Familiar faces, first-time guests, members old and new, plenty of laughter, a fiercely competitive raffle, and a celebratory glass of bubbly to mark another successful year for the Club 🥂🍾

The evening ended in true Viking fashion, with a worthy shieldmaiden claiming the crown after some spirited competition. 👑🪓

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our fantastic partners and sponsors for their continued support. You are helping keep one of London’s oldest Norwegian traditions thriving 🙏🏼❤️

Now there is only one thing left to do… channel all that Viking spirit into supporting Norway against Brazil tomorrow✨

What a way to spend a summer evening☀️🇳🇴🇬🇧

A huge thank you to the Norwegian Ambassador for hosting another wonderful summer reception at the Residence, together with the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce 🙏🏼💯

Great conversations, familiar faces, new connections, sparkling wine, strawberries, and plenty of Norwegian summer spirit🍓🥂🍾

And of course, we had to show our support for the Norwegian national football team with a proper Viking “RO” ⚽️💪 Heia 👏
