I’ve always lived by a simple value: the most important thing in life is to be kind.
After years in leadership roles — and now coaching leaders myself — I’m more convinced than ever that kindness in leadership isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s a strategic advantage.
It isn’t about being soft or fluffy. It’s about practising kindness through clarity, respect, and genuine care for the people you’re asking to do hard things.
Kindness builds trust.
Trust fuels performance.
It also means not avoiding difficult conversations but holding them with courage and consideration. Being clear about what’s required while listening fully and acknowledging effort.
Lead well. Choose kindness.
