Tanguito Tanguito is an authentic Argentine tango school in the heart of London. Pleased to teach you :) Ok, so what is tango apart from a fizzy, orange drink? Start here.

We teach with an original technique, using modern teaching tools to produce happy, shiny, dancy people. We want our students to enjoy tango and we'll do everything we can to make you feel at home. In short, tango is: a dance of South American origin, danced by couples in a social setting. In long, it is emotional, poetic, disciplined, physical, unpredictable, addictive, passionate, authentic, spiritual and that's only the short of the long of it. So, if you're looking for something involving with a ton of character and loads to offer, Argentine tango is for you. Tango attracts a whole melting pot of people, some who look like they were bred for it and some who might come as a pleasant surprise: so don't fret if you don't look like you're straight out of Buenos Aires. And, if you feel you have as much natural flair as Silvio Berlusconi has trouser control, that's fine too. Everyone's got to start somewhere. And starting is fun! A good place (we like to think) is www.tanguito.co.uk where you can find more information about Tanguito, our classes and what we do. You can also learn more about tango itself. Check it out and see if it sounds like it might be your cup of Malbec, then come in and see us. We'd love to meet you. We're in it for the long run.

🔥 THIS TUESDAY: PARADA! Elegant Stops, Creative Variations & Axis Control

💃🕺 This Tuesday 20 October, we’re exploring one of the most playful and expressive movements in Argentine tango: the Parada!

A parada is much more than simply stopping your partner’s foot. It’s an invitation to pause, connect and create something beautiful together. With the right technique and timing, even the simplest parada can open the door to countless possibilities.

🌟 7PM — BEGINNERS: PARADA
Discover the foundations of the Parada! We’ll work on positioning, balance, leading and following, and how to create a comfortable and elegant stop without interrupting the natural flow of the dance. A wonderful opportunity to develop connection, balance and control!

🔥 8PM — IMPROVERS & INTERMEDIATES
Parada Variations & Axis Control

Let’s take the Parada further! We’ll experiment with different entries and exits, playful combinations and changes of direction. We’ll also explore how understanding and controlling our own axis allows us to create more sophisticated movements, maintain balance and communicate with greater precision.

🎶 8PM — MILONGUITA! THE MILONGA FOR BEGINNERS

🎶 9.30PM — LA YUMBA! TUESDAY PRACTICA

🕺🏻💃THIS TUESDAY: OCHO ADELANTE — FROM ELEGANT BASICS TO CREATIVE VARIATIONS & DYNAMICS!

This Tuesday 13 October, we’re diving into one of the most elegant and versatile movements in Argentine tango: the Ocho Adelante (forward ocho)! 💃🕺

Far more than a simple figure, the forward ocho opens up a wonderful world of possibilities. From smooth pivots and fluid changes of direction to playful variations in rhythm and dynamics, it’s a movement that can transform the way we dance.

At 7pm, our Beginners class will explore the foundations of the Ocho Adelante. We’ll work progressively on the pivots, dissociation, balance and the connection between partners, helping you create a movement that feels natural, comfortable and beautifully fluid.

At 8pm, Improvers & Intermediates will take things further with Ocho variations and dynamics. How can we turn a familiar movement into something surprising?

We’ll experiment with changes of speed, energy and direction, explore different possibilities for leading and following, and discover how to use the music to make our ochos more expressive and exciting.
