As anticipated, the March 6th event was a huge success - despite the many challenges we faced, once again everyone involved made the night one to remember.
Firstly I want to thank every person who has ever bought a ticket to a Bettys Boxing event and still continues to do so. Your support is immensely appreciated by us and also all of the fighters you come to see. The atmosphere as always was electric.
Thank you to all of the fighters for your hard work and dedication in the build up to the event, your patience with us if there has been hurdles along the way, and ultimately for turning up on the night and giving 110%. We are forever grateful to you all for being an integral part of the Bettys family.
To all of the team in/out of the ring, behind the scenes, every single one of you who were there last night working in some capacity or another, once again ensured the night ran as soothly as possible and we literally don’t know what we would do without you all. The level of professionalism that’s displayed throughout the night is why we’re still here, so thank you 🙏🏼
Not forgetting our sponsors Able Skills - without your continued support we wouldn’t be where we are today. We appreciate you more than you know.
Proud to say we now have our first heavyweight champion, Lee Cook who won in the first round in dominant fashion- unfortunately this wasn’t against his original opponent, but was quickly replaced thanks to a last minute step in. I thank you both for agreeing the extremely last minute changes. I know how frustrating this was for you and your team Lee.
Lastly, the WrightvsPriestley fight - this was a hugely anticipated fight and it didn’t fail to disappoint. The x6 rounds displayed a high standard of Boxing on both parts and was a joy to watch. I’m very proud of Jordan for taking on the champ after 7 years out, he showed everyone and himself that he can still stand and trade with the best. Toby Priestley, what can I say, you have a habit of proving everyone wrong time and time again and continue to go from strength to strength every time you fight. You are an absolute joy to work with, it’s been a pleasure to share this journey with you and I can only thank you that you have decided to take this journey with Bettys. We plan to get our heads together and find the next challenge for the triple champ 🥊
Jordan doesn’t have Facebook so has asked me to tell everyone, the reason he lost the decision was because his hoodie weighed over 40lbs and his legs had weakened 😉
Nothing but love to everyone there last night, especially Colleen LiveseyHall Wright who is the back bone of Bettys. I’m not saying that she was stressed out on this one, but she actually died, twice 🤷🏻♂️ and also my better half, who puts up with all my tantrums but keeps me grounded and off the crack 👊🏼
Until next time Bettys 👊🏼🥂
