We’re incredibly proud of every player who has taken the next step into an Emerging Talent Centre or professional club academy. 💙⚽️

But this graphic only tells one part of our story.

At South London Girls Football Academy, we don’t build our programme around recruiting only the most advanced players. One of the things we are most proud of is creating an environment where girls of all abilities can join, develop and progress from wherever their starting point may be.

For some players, that journey has led to opportunities with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Charlton, Brighton, Millwall, Bromley, AFC Wimbledon, London City Lionesses and Sutton United.

For others, progress has meant something completely different — and just as important.

It might be having the confidence to join in for the first time.
Overcoming social anxiety.
Becoming more active.
Making new friends.
Improving focus and confidence in education.
Learning resilience, communication and teamwork.
Or simply discovering a genuine love for football. 💫

Success looks different for every girl.

We will always celebrate players who reach academy and ETC level, but our purpose has never been simply to produce professional footballers.

Our purpose is to use football to help every girl elevate her potential — on the pitch and beyond it.

And that is the pathway we are most proud of. 💙💛

SOUTH LONDON SHOWED UP! 🔥⚽️

A dominant 6–3 victory over Savedalens IF of Sweden in our final Gothia Cup group game!

The girls put everything they’ve worked on in training into practice, playing with confidence, intensity and real South London spirit. 💪🏽

Five different goalscorers found the net, meaning every outfield player scored during the tournament—an incredible team achievement! 🙌🏽

Apart from a complacent final minute that turned 6–1 into 6–3, this was a fantastic all-round performance and a true display of what these players brought from South London to Sweden. ❤️💙

A scoreline never tells the whole story. ⚽️💪

Our South London Girls Football Academy seven went toe-to-toe with an excellent JFV Sudholstein side in a brilliant, competitive game in Germany.

At half-time, it was 1–1 — a reflection of just how well the girls competed, stayed organised and matched a strong regional select team.

In the second half, a couple of decisive three-minute spells changed the game. With greater numbers and fresh legs, JFV Sudholstein were able to overrun our lean squad and show their quality in the final third, creating chances and finishing them clinically.

The final score was 7–3, but there was so much more to take from this performance: courage, resilience, togetherness and proof that our seven can compete for long periods against high-level opposition.

A fantastic experience, a valuable lesson and another important step forward for this group. Proud of every single player. 👏⚽️

Tournament football is all about moments—and today gave us plenty to learn from. ⚽️🔥

Our Gothia Cup 2026 journey began against IS Ytterby of Sweden in a competitive first group game played under the hot Gothenburg sun. A few costly errors and some missed opportunities in the final third made the difference in a 4-4 draw but there were also plenty of positives to build on.

This was our chance to feel our way into the tournament, experience the level and understand exactly what we need to improve. We’ll learn, reset and come back stronger as the week continues.

Proud of the girls, grateful for the challenge and ready for the next one. Together, we keep moving forward. ❤️💙

And that’s a wrap on the 2025/26 season at South London Girls Football Academy. ⚽️💙

Across our Bromley, Lewisham and Southwark centres, we have had the privilege of supporting more than 200 players with their football and personal development this season.

Every achievement matters.

For some players, that has meant building confidence or overcoming social anxiety. For others, it has been developing a love for football, creating a healthy new habit, making new friends or earning an opportunity with a professional football academy.
Whatever the milestone, we are incredibly proud of every player who has been part of
our academy this season.

Now it is time for a well-earned summer break before we return in September for the 2026/27 season — our most holistic player development programme yet.

Next season, we are excited to place even more of the development journey into the hands of our players and families, helping every player continue to learn, grow and progress both at training and away from it.

Thank you to all our players, families and coaches for another unforgettable season.

We had the honour of working with a US Olympic Development Program player from a Florida last week.

Great energy brought to the session and a real show of the standards being achieved across the Atlantic.

A fantastic player, currently playing age groups above back home. We finessed the art of unbalancing the defender and exit past them at speed followed by receiving in central areas with pressure from behind to beat the player and advance with the ball.

We hope it adds another dimension to her game in the upcoming season.
