What an incredible start to the term at our Disability Tennis Sessions at Purley Bury LTC 🎾

New players, new volunteers and a young lady in a wheelchair joined for the very first time. Her story is quite something and we are so glad she found us. This is why we do what we do, on top of everything else.

Thanks to the for funding these invaluable sessions.

Come along to try one with us on Fridays (this evening!): juniors between 5:15pm - 6:00pm and adults 6.00pm - 6:45pm 🙌🏼

Stealer 🥷

This game is great for stamina and conditioning, continuous sprinting between rackets keeps players moving at full speed without it feeling like a tedious running drill. It also persuades players to stay low, reinforcing a steady stance, multidirectional movement and footwork control required on court 💯

Tennis Fishing 🎣

We love this game! Perfect for helping kids visualise points and success with immediate feedback and reward. It’s also great for focusing on depth and target control, as they hit balls at the cones to collect them one by one. We find this really helps with the kids engagement of tennis, framing repetitive tennis practise as a fun story-telling game.

As always, the person with the most cones, wins 🏆

Rain, wind or shine, the level of tennis at the .tennis County Championships was unbelievable! 🙌🏼

Great to see some MDL players leaving it all out on court, and another big congratulations to Savannah for winning the U8s title 🏆

It’s been amazing to get such an incredible response from children and parents at the MDL Summer camps. It really has been a summer to remember. We look forward to more competitive, but fun, busy and brilliant tennis coaching coming into autumn and beyond!

A big thank you goes to all the incredible MDL Coaches who have worked super hard (in 38+ degree heat🥵) to keep these kids smiling, playing, learning and developing their tennis skills 🙌🏼

We can’t wait for an even bigger and better summer next year 🥳
