The Daily Dozen

For a bit of exercises history this week we are taking on the daily dozen (except a little updated). In the 1920s and 30s, “Daily Dozen” was a household phrase. Some have even heard of it still today, although they may not know its provenance.

The “Daily Dozen” referred to a set of twelve calisthenic exercises that were performed, daily, in an attempt to stay healthy and fit.We are going to complete a set of 12 exercises for 12 reps each. They might not be the original exercises created by Walter Camp but they will challenge you none the less.

Hitt It Outside

Combining two of my favourite training techniques, Hiit (high intensity interval training) and outside training this week we are Hiiting it outside!

A few changes this week. New meeting spot Primrose Hill Park Trim trail entrace which is next to old toilet block also for this week only it will be at 8am (as I am running a 10km race later). Let me know if you can make it this Saturday morning?

Hiit the School Gates

As the Summer holidays are at an end and the new school year has started. This week we will be training in a Hiit format to keep up with the school drops offs and endless pickups all whilst we try to keep going with all the other jobs.

Think high intensity interval training with a mix of strength to Hiit Motherhood straight on!

Workout Wednesday Back to School Fun

All you need is a bag, go as heavy or as light as you like! Complete 10 or 20 reps of each of the five exercises and repeat 2-3 times through for a complete workout. Enjoy!

1.Right Leg forward Lunge+Left Bag Bicep Curl x 10
2.Bag squat and Shoulder Press x 20
3.Left leg Froward Lunge+Right bag Bicep Curl x 10
4. Bag Frontal Arm Raises x 10
5. Bag Glute Bridge x 10

Repeat 2-3 times.
