Over the moon with the weekends result at Half Marathon
If I’m honest I never thought I would be a decent-ish runner, coming from powerlifting and strength training, running has always been something I thought I would just tick over with rather than excel at
Looking forward to exploring this current fitness a bit more.
✝️ Firstly I want to Praise God
This was my first race I’d approached with a more Christ focused headspace and I found it a unique experience.
Whenever the pain started to get pretty bad, rather than just telling myself, WORK HARDER & DIG DEEPER, I surrendered my outcome to God and if He felt It was in my story to keep pushing, He would give me the strength I needed to keep pushing.
There were genuine moments in the race where I just felt like I was being carried through the discomfort when I asked Him for help.
This past year on my faith journey has been really eye opening and I look forward to honouring Him in many ways over my lifetime.
Also, thank you to everyone’s messages and support over the day and since, It meant a lot 🙏🏼
Plus, having the support from what felt like all of Hackney was so good
& lastly a massive thanks to my coach for telling me to sort my 💩 out when I started to have self doubt and giving me the tools to reach this stretch target
Big year with some hurdles to overcome, but with
❤️🩹 Heart surgery (May)
🏊🏼♂️ T100 Olympic Triathlon (July)
🚴🏼 Swansea Half Ironman (July)
🏃🏻♂️ & Ironman Wales (Sept)
to still do this year, I’m looking forward to planning next years races and seeing if I can give this running thing a real crack
