Augsburg delivered another thrilling weekend of world-class canoe slalom as the third ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup of 2026 came to a close.

European athletes once again dominated the podiums, winning 20 of the 24 medals awarded (83.3%) across the eight medal events.

Gold medals were shared between six different nations:
Czechia – Jakub Krejčí (K1 Men) & Tereza Kneblová (Kayak Cross Women)
Germany – Ricarda Funk (K1 Women & Kayak Cross Individual)
Italy – Raffaello Ivaldi (C1 Men)
Great Britain – Joseph Clarke (Kayak Cross Men)
Spain – Manuel Ochoa (Kayak Cross Individual Men)

Three World Cups into the season, the depth of European canoe slalom continues to shine, with different nations stepping onto the top of the podium every weekend:

Slovenia dominated Tacen
Czechia led Prague
Augsburg saw victories shared across the continent

With the World Cup season heating up, the road to the 2026 European Championships in Ivrea becomes more exciting with every race.

The countdown to the European Games Istanbul 2027 has officially begun, with organisers unveiling the event’s logo as part of the one-year-to-go celebrations.

Presented following the European Olympic Committees General Assembly in Budapest, the new branding reflects Istanbul’s unique position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia as the city prepares to welcome the continent’s top athletes from 16–27 June 2027.

Canoe sprint will be one of the Sports of this edition

Next year's edition of the European Games marked its one-year countdown by unveiling its branding on Tuesday after the EOC confirmed key aspects of the event during the organisation's General Assembly in Budapest.

The 2026 Paddle Europe Sprint, Paracanoe and Masters European Championships concluded in Montemor-o-Velho, with the Hungarian team once again winning the highest number of medals among all participating nations. Portuguese star Fernando Pimenta was crowned European Champion in the last Race of the Championships.

This year’s European Championships concluded in Montemor-o-Velho, with the final four European paracanoe titles awarded. Victories went to home favorite Norberto Mourão, Great Britain’s Emma Wiggs and Hope Gordon, and Ukraine’s Vladyslav Yepifanov.

On the final day of the 2026 Paddle Europe Sprint, Paracanoe and Masters European Championships, the last races of the Masters competition were held. The programme featured the final two official championships events, with European titles going to Portugal’s Nuno Henriques in the MK1 45–49 10,000 m event and the French duo During–Beaumont in the MK2 40–44 200 m event.
