🏆 MERGER CUP CHARITY VOTE IS OPEN!
QMSU Club Sport Board have shortlisted four incredible charities for this year’s Merger Cup and now it’s down to students to decide who gets their support. Read up on each one below and cast your vote 🗳️
🩷 CoppaFeel! The UK’s only breast cancer awareness charity focused specifically on young people. They work directly with universities across the UK because they know that students are exactly the age when checking your chest becomes important and most people simply don’t know it. Breast cancer doesn’t wait until you’re older, the earlier it’s caught the better the outcome every single time. And it doesn’t just affect women, any body can be affected, which is why CoppaFeel! exist to make sure young people know their own bodies. University students are exactly who they’re fighting for.
💛 Grace O’Malley-Kumar Foundation Set up in memory of Grace, a medical student and England hockey player at the University of Nottingham who was killed in the Nottingham attacks in June 2023. The foundation funds causes she believed in and runs ‘Grace Groups’, peer networks to make sure no student feels isolated or left out.
💙 The Ted Senior Foundation Championing good mental health and su***de prevention across university sports clubs. TSF run ‘Ted’s Friends’, trained peer support networks embedded in university sports clubs, and provide bereavement support for those affected by su***de loss.
💚 PACES The Palestine Association for Children’s Encouragement of Sports has delivered structured sports programmes for Palestinian children aged 6–16 in refugee camps across Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon since 2006, reaching over 37,000 children and training more than 2,600 coaches.
