My BWY Yoga Teacher Training starts Saturday 19th September in London and online 🌿 This is a typical in-person session example — here’s what a training day actually looks like, from start to finish.
During our in-person sessions:
→ We arrive at We settle in, we breathe, we chant.
→ Group check-in. We open the class together, checking in with how everyone’s arrived that day.
→ A little philosophy. We explore a snippet of yoga philosophy — enough to sit with, enough to carry into the practice. We come back to this during our online sessions and reading at home.
→ Anatomy of the day. We look closely at the anatomy of a specific posture — what’s really happening, how this moves through the body, how to modify and make this pose accessible, how to teach safely.
→ Guided practice. I lead you through a full class — warm up, breaking down the peak pose with all its anatomy and modifications, counter pose, and savasana at the end. You feel it in your own body before you learn to teach it.
→ Break-time! We bring in lovely, healthy food to share, tea, cake and chatting. It’s a lovely part of the day!
→ Teaching practice. We start small — in pairs — then build up to teaching in small groups. No pressure just a lovely casual and supportive environment. It’s where it all starts to click.
→Group discussion. Questions, tricky bits, real solutions. Honestly one of the most interesting parts of the whole day.
→ And we always end with something lovely - meditation, relaxation, or a closing chant, to bring everyone gently back.
It’s a full day. It’s also one of my favourite parts of this whole training — watching a room of people move through breath, anatomy, philosophy and each other’s first nervous attempts at teaching, all in one afternoon. 💛
