Why Slovenia? In three days, our runners will find out.

This weekend, Ultra X I Feel Slovenia returns to the Vipava Valley - our spectacular host destination between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic.

Here, the course travels through vineyards, karst plateaus and picturesque villages. But the experience is about more than the ground beneath your feet. It’s the changing landscapes, local culture, warm welcome and close connection with nature that make this part of Slovenia so special.

Beautiful, certainly. But out on the trails, every view still has to be earned.

Five distances. One unforgettable weekend in Slovenia. 🇸🇮

From an accessible 11.4km Dash to a 110km overnight ultra, there are five ways to experience the rolling hills, technical trails and sweeping views of the Vipava Valley.

Feel Slovenia

Ultra X Slovenia takes place on 5–6 September 2026, with warm conditions, varied terrain and routes designed for everyone from newer trail runners to experienced ultrarunners.

The full Slovenian adventure: 110km and 4,249m of elevation, starting at 06:00 on Saturday.

Our longest and toughest challenge of the weekend takes runners through the day, into the night and back out the other side.

A demanding single-day ultra featuring 60km and 2,945m of elevation.

Starting at 06:00 on Saturday, expect sustained climbs, technical ground and a long journey through the Vipava Valley.

Sunday’s ultra option covers 50.5km with 1,288m of elevation. A serious day on the trails.

A tough introduction to mountain trail racing, packing 1,190m of elevation into approximately 26km. The route climbs early before rewarding runners with a long descent towards the finish.

New to trail racing or fancy something shorter and faster? The Dash covers 11.4km with 85m of elevation, making it the most accessible way to join the Ultra X Slovenia weekend.

Ultra X started in a London pub. Honestly. 🍻

Jamie had an idea for a race in Wadi Rum - so he went out and made it happen.

The first event had just seven runners. The following year, he met Sam Heward, his future co-founder, and the woman who would become his wife. From there, Ultra X began to take shape.

Next month, Ultra X Jordan enters its tenth year. Plenty has changed since those first seven runners lined up, but the heart of the experience hasn’t: an extraordinary landscape, a genuinely tough challenge and an unforgettable group of people sharing it.

Ten years on, we’re heading back to where it all began. 🇯🇴
