Going on a journey back through the climbing photo archives, a few days too late for World Photography Day. These would have been taken on various climbing trips and projects between 2016 and now. Lucky to have some of my favourite memories documented in photographs, and wanted to share a few! đź“·

12th August 2026 | Mallorca | Total Solar Eclipse | Deep Water Solo 🌙🕶️

Approaching this incredible piece of rock by boat, and seeing the climb jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea, we knew the stage was set for a unique moment. Our aim: to film climbing during a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event.

Getting our team, cameras, climbing kit and enough supplies to camp out on this piece of coastline until the evening, then
executing the climbing, filming the Eclipse and getting back to port with dry SD cards (we owe you a million, ) was a lifetime experience for the memory bank.

Grateful to have shared it with an amazing crew, whilst also getting to witness one of the all-time greats , and his juggernaut team of creatives doing what they do best! Totally bonkers. Let’s do it again when we’re 98.

Answering the internet’s most asked climbing questions with

A two-time Olympic champion, multiple-time World Champion, and winner of more IFSC World Cups than anyone in history. Her recent send of Bibliographie 9b+ (5.15c), made her the 13th person and the second woman in history to climb the grade. Not only is Janja one of the greatest climbers of all time, she’s the most dominant athlete competition climbing has ever seen.

Janja is proving again and again and again (and again) what’s possible when you go after your dreams passion and determination.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Janja ahead of the in London earlier this year to answer some of the internet’s most asked climbing questions.

Coach Be 🤝 Deep Water Soloing 15m above the River Thames for Climb Fest.

You might recognise as a regular guest in Hannah Morris Bouldering videos: always bringing a positive energy to coaching sessions and sharing her expertise on technique and climbing movement whilst encouraging climbers to see fear as an expected feature of climbing.

You might assume Be doesn’t get scared of much - she throws herself around the bouldering gym like she’s never had a fear in her life - but climbing above water has always been far outside of her comfort zone.

This year’s Climb Fest gave the perfect opportunity for Be to tackle her fear head on. Despite an unintentional but royal sandbagging from me - (“no, I really don’t think you’ll fall, the route is easy”), Be gave it full beans. It was certainly a proud friend moment watching Be take on the wall, and even find the time for a spot of coaching on the way.

AD . Life is better when you’re climbing on the coast in the sunshine. The goal since my accident last September was always to return to climbing, and for that return to feel complete and earned. I didn’t want to be held back by the fear of re-injury or being unable to really try hard. I’ve topped a couple of very easy outdoor boulders in 2026, but sport climbing outside again felt like a different milestone to meet. I’ve never been especially bold on a rope, but being back at height and feeling fairly relaxed was a big step in the right direction. This year I’ve racked up months of physio and hours in the gym trying to rebuild, using Monzo to manage and organise my payments.

I’ve learned that you can put in the hours and focus on physical recovery, but rebuilding confidence is a different kind of investment. I haven’t been able to account for head-game so easily, but I’ve been topping up the figurative savings by zoning in on my motivations, reintroducing height and exposure at my own pace, and replacing less fun climbing memories with better, positive ones. Climbing IS scary, I think it always will be for me, but that’s part of the big picture. Nearly a year on, I’m starting to see that my return to climbing won’t always feel so far away. Felt myself, enjoyed the views and even felt comfortable leading a few easier clips. Bish bash bosh.

We caught up with - athlete and one of rock climbing’s biggest names - for a chat high above Climb Fest London. 🚠

We covered a whole bunch: how Alex feels about fame, the growing popularity of climbing, the evolution of climbing as a commercial product, analysing risk in the mountains, the biggest misconceptions about climbing without a rope and the most controversial of all: snack preferences. Here’s a taste of what’s to come in the full interview. 🧗
