A HISTORIC DAY FOR GIRL'S CRICKET!

Sunday 16th August 2026 will go down in the history books for both Leytonstone Cricket Club and NEO Cricket Club.

The occasion marked the very first Girls Softball Cricket match between our two clubs, both proud members of the NationalCricketLeague (NCL) — a brilliant milestone for grassroots girls' cricket in our community!

13 amazing girls took to the field for a fast-paced 16-overs pair cricket format, where every single player got the chance to bat AND bowl. Lots of smiles, lots of learning, and a real game-based experience for our future stars!

A huge thank you to Sajid Patel (NCL Co-Founder & Secretary) and Ayaz Karim (NCL Youth Development Officer) for officiating and making this special day possible — both fully invested in growing the game across both clubs.

Leytonstone Cricket Club (LCC) provided 14 cricket sessions for beginner and basic level children, not part of any other Cricket Club, offering from 5 years old to 15 years old. Our Club's Head Coach Sajid Patel led the sessions and coordinating with many Parents/Guardians. This was the first winter programme delivered by the Club, averaging attendance were 35 children. Also to mention to the NationalCricketLeague (NCL) Youth Development Officer Ayaz Karim also supported the programme with his advice, guidance, input and also attending the sessions to help out alongside other volunteers.

This has been an incredible journey so far.

Leytonstone Cricket Club winter sessions for children since November 2025 to now has been a real success taking place at Pastures Youth Centre in Leytonstone.

Takes place every Sundays from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Leytonstone Cricket Club who play in the NationalCricketLeague (NCL) organised an annual memorial game in paying tribute to two Club and Community Cricket legends in Haji Dilawar Patel & Haji Juned Patel at Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club on Sunday 7th September 2025. It's very important in keeping the legacy going and memories in our hearts.

Leytonstone Cricket Club Head Coach Sajid Patel continues in promoting the beautiful game to children, young people and the wider audience locally in the South of London Borough of Waltham Forest, soft ball sessions for children (Boys & Girls) from as young as 5 years old to 11 years old on Saturday mornings from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Wanstead Flats in Leytonstone. Session will resume on Saturday 23rd August 2025 till Saturday 13th September 2025 with plans to offer winter training indoor in October 2025.
