Curious about silent meditation retreats but intimidated by traditional ten day (or longer) vipassanas? I was lucky to learn from years ago that there are incredibly supportive Buddhist centres open to all levels of experience (you don’t need to sit cross legged on the floor!) run by the most lovely, open-hearted, funny, compassionate people. ❤️
There’s still the structure of daily practice but it’s less intense. Walking meditation, mixed with seated, plus there can be other practices, depending on the retreat.
The teachings shared are deeply rooted in the tradition and aim to be accessible, even for the newbie meditator.
If you want to dip your toe into the profound benefits of awareness practices, check out these places:
Gaia House (I can’t tag them but you’ll find them on Google)
