Perpetiel Coaching

Perpetiel Coaching Perpetiel is the angel of success and we're here to help you and your business be successful. So to get something different, you have to DO something different.

Perpetiel Ltd is a husband and wife team set-up after the birth of our first child to allow us to work more flexibly. Perpetiel is the angel of success and, although a little corny, the services we offer deliver success for you, your team or your business. Henry Ford said "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got." That’s not always easy, but that’s where a coach comes in…

A coach acts as a catalyst helping you to get from where you are now to where you want to be more easily and quicker than if you were to do it alone. Coaching is the relationship between us, the support, activities and discussions. It is not counselling or therapy, although many people find it very freeing and of course it is entirely confidential. Coaches use a varied toolkit of knowledge, experience and methods to help you achieve your goal. I will not judge or criticise.I will be your partner in success, I will question and challenge you, I will give you space to explore options and transform yourself and I will motivate and inspire you.

Getting back into routine last week was such a mix - on the one hand, being in my office alone in the house was bliss, however... getting used to the new schedule is work in itself!!!

To help me make sure I fit in everything that I need and want to do I sat down and applied 2 energy/time management methods that I use regularly.

1️⃣ I used the important-urgent method to decide which key things I needed to have in my diary each week, fortnight or month then used

2️⃣ Time blocking - adding the above to my diary. Client appointments are already in with a little space for some flexibility and space for those using my online booking. If a client needs a time already allocated to something I can move, I just move it.

Here are some coaching questions to help you:
✨ What genuinely needs to happen this week?
✨ What would make this week feel like a good week?
✨ What are you currently saying "yes" to that perhaps doesn't need to be a yes?

"You are not what you think you are; but what you think, you are"
Norman Vincent Peale.

Came across this quote years ago when writing a 'How to Reduce Worry' workshop for a corporate client.

Do you agree with it?

The psychologist and coach in me loves it, but also the part of me that likes grammar smiles at it. Just like when I got the 'Easts Shoots & Leaves' book by Lynne Truss.

Some coaching Qs for you:

✨ What are you currently thinking about yourself that may not actually be true?
✨ If you changed the way you thought about yourself, what might become possible?
✨ What do you believe about yourself when you're at your best?

Yesterday something significant happened...

Global Guidance on supporting employees through menstruation and menopause was published by the ISO 😍

No matter where you are in the world there is a Standard that supports menopause!!!

If you are interested in introducing menopause coaching to the people in your organisation please get in touch.

"Tackling the menopause, unpicking it when you are down in the depths of its effects requires a strategy and this programme gives you this"

"I would strongly recommend Jenny as a coach, she is warm & easy to communicate with but also assertive to get commitment to achieve next steps"

In about a month I will be turning 50.

It's a milestone that I thought I was going to be bothered by, but it turns out I’m not...

Despite living with autoimmune conditions and having to really monitor my body, mind, energy & food, I have:
A great life,
People I love,
Work I really enjoy,
Things to look forward to (the picture is an event I went to at the weekend which I’d been really looking forward to)

I DO NOT have everything figured out but I have a better understanding of myself and what matters to me. I'm less interested in what I should be doing and more interested in what actually works for me.

That’s something that happens in coaching, in coaching we work out the best way for you to move forward, the right decisions for you.

Turning 50 is starting to feel like a privilege, an opportunity so here are some coaching questions for if you’re in a similar boat:
✨ Who do you want to be now?
✨What matters to you at this stage of your life?
✨What do you want more of?
✨What are you ready to let go of?
✨If you didn’t think about age, what might you do differently?

Well hello September!

September is often thought of as Self-Care September and I found out that it's also Peri-Menopause Awareness Month (of course, as next month is menopause awareness month).

Peri-menopause was a rollercoaster for me before I trained as a menopause coach and applied all of my learning to myself. My training taught me that a lot of managing menopause and peri-menopause is down to outstanding bespoke self-care - you know the type that is actually quite tough to do but makes a significant difference...

This September I am going to be checking in with how I am doing on the main topics we cover in The Menopause Plan - a 7 session coaching programme that helps you understand your hormones and boost your overall wellbeing.

✨ What will you do this September for self-care and/or peri-menopause?
✨ What do you already know helps your symptoms, energy or wellbeing, but aren't consistently doing?
✨ What symptoms are you noticing that you'd like to understand better?
✨ What support would make this stage of life easier for you?

If you'd like to learn more about The Menopause Plan read on and drop me a message to book a free no-obligation chat 💬

Over 7 sessions you make small changes at your own pace that build to rewind symptoms, boost energy, sleep and relationships. As your coach I will be your guide, supporter & sounding board. I will be non-judgemental and provide encouragement and accountability to help you succeed where you maybe haven't before.

Clients say :

Here in the UK we're approaching the August Bank Holiday weekend, a 3 day weekend which for me feels like the end of summer...

The school holidays are nearly over; there are uniforms to find, calendars to check, routines to re-establish and work to get back into properly (I've been more part-time and more flexible for the last few weeks).

The bank holiday is a lovely extra day but if it feels like a bit of a transition point for you before September and Autumn appear perhaps you'd like to take a few minutes to think about:
✨ What worked well over the summer that I'd like to keep?
✨ What am I ready to let go of?
✨ What do I want Autumn to feel like?
✨ What's one thing I could put in place now that would make the next few weeks easier?

You don't need to have all the asnwers but sometimes a little bit of thinking ahead can make a big difference to how we step into what's next.

If you need any help, feel free to reach out and book a free discovery call.

Coaching statistics that might surprise you…

In coaching we often talk about how things feel - having a safe confidential space to talk things through, gaining clarity, feeling more confident and finally taking action - but there’s some great data behind it too (the psychologist in me loves some stats).

Research from the International Coaching Federation showed that people who had experienced coaching reported:
✨ 42% improved communication skills,
✨ 41% increased self-esteem or self-confidence,
✨ 38% increased productivity,
✨ 38% improved work-life balance.

What are you reading or listening to?

I'm in a bookclub so nearly always have a reading book on the go, plus when in the car or walking alone I sometimes listen to podcasts. Additionally, I like reading non-fiction to support my coaching or self-development.

I love the me time, to escape and to learn.

I am currently reading 'Atmosphere' by Taylor Jenkins Reid on my Kindle for bookclub and have just finished reading 'Careless People' by Sarah Wynn-Williams as it was recommended by a friend. My current favourite podcast is 'What's Up Docs?' on BBc iPlayer.

✨ What are you reading or listening to?
✨ What do you get from time reading or listening?
✨ What could you read, listen to or explore that might help you with something you're working through right now?
✨ What are you learning about yourself?

Coaching concepts continued...

This month I'd like to focus on 'habits'.

We all have habits. Some support us, some don't and some we don't even realise we're doing until we stop and think about them.

In coaching we cover habits in many many ways; for example you can cover breaking habits, you can start new habits, you can make the behaviour more consistent and easier, you can explore willpower and you can get curious about your habits - what's underneath, really going on...

Some coaching questions to get you thinking, and if you want to explore some more simply get in touch to book a free discovery call:

✨ Which of your habits are helping you and which aren't?
✨ What habit would you like t change?
✨ What new habit would make a positive difference to your life?
✨ How can you make it easier to succeed?

What shape is your coaching practice?

At a recent group coaching supervision session we were asked this and it was not only a lovely reflection exercise to open the session with but as we shared our shapes it was also a great way to get to know a little about the other people in the group.

I said that the first shape that came into my head for my coaching was a star. This is because my coaching is:
✨ organised and has structure (my clients tell me they appreciate and value this)
✨ explores different aspects of the coachee and their life (key to coaching and working out the way forward),
✨ allows you to shine like a star!

So, what shape is your practice or business?
