It is compact enough (65cm) to be strapped to the side of your backpack (that's 2 plastic school rulers for those of you who don't do metric). And when you need it, you don't need to 'twist-n-adjust' to get the right length. The Snowstik locks

into place by simply pulling it to 140cm. To collapse, press the button and push the Snowstik into the ground and keep boarding.
