🥋 Meet Master Gregers Young—the founder and senior instructor of the Horangi Tang Soo Do Association.

With many years of martial arts experience, Master Young created Horangi to provide a welcoming place where traditional Tang Soo Do is taught with respect, discipline and encouragement.

Our classes are open to children, teenagers and adults of all abilities.

You don’t need:

❌ Previous martial arts experience
❌ To already be fit
❌ To be especially flexible
❌ To feel confident before you begin

We’ll help you learn step by step, at a pace that is right for you.

At Horangi, you can develop your fitness, confidence and practical martial arts skills while becoming part of a supportive martial arts family.

Would you—or someone in your family—like to try Tang Soo Do?

Send us a message or comment **HORANGI** and we’ll tell you more about our classes. 🐯

🥋 “Am I too unfit to start martial arts?”

It's a question beginners sometimes worry about.

But here's the thing...

You don't need to get fit BEFORE starting martial arts.

Training is part of how you develop your:

💪 fitness
⚖️ balance
🧠 coordination
🥋 technique
❤️ confidence

And everyone starts somewhere.

You aren't expected to walk through the door already knowing how to kick, block or perform a form.

That's what instructors are there to teach you.

So we're curious:

What would make YOU most nervous about walking into a martial arts class for the first time?

Tell us below. 👇

There are probably plenty of other beginners thinking exactly the same thing.

PARENTS — we'd love to ask you something. 🥋

If your child started martial arts, what would you MOST hope they gained from it?

💛 Confidence
🧠 Focus & concentration
💪 Fitness
🛡️ Self-defence skills
🤝 Friendships
🥋 Discipline
😊 Simply finding something they love

There isn't a right answer.

As instructors, we're interested in what parents actually want for their children — not what martial arts schools assume they want.

Tell us below 👇

And if your child already trains in martial arts, we'd love to know what YOU have seen them gain from it.

🥋 WHY IS SELF-DEFENCE IMPORTANT?

Self-defence is not about looking for confrontation or proving how strong you are.

Responsible self-defence begins with:

👀 Being aware of your surroundings
🧠 Recognising and avoiding unsafe situations
🗣️ Setting clear boundaries and seeking help
🧘 Remaining calm enough to make sensible decisions
🥋 Using physical skills only when necessary

Martial arts training provides a controlled environment in which students can develop confidence, coordination and self-control while learning to work safely with others.

No martial art can guarantee someone’s safety. The aim is to develop greater awareness, sensible judgement and appropriate responses—not encourage unnecessary confrontation.

True strength includes knowing when to walk away.
