A 3-1 win and one of the better performances of the season after Arteta rang the changes to rest Saka, Aubameyang, Bellerin, Gabriel and others.

Undermanned and seemingly under powered, away from home this looked like a loss waiting to happen and Tielemans opened the scoring inside 10 minutes cutting in from the right wing to beat Leno.

Arsenal, however picked themselves up and looked dangerous at the other end and were millimeters away from a penalty through Pepe’s industry.

Willian finally came out of his shell to deliver free-kick assist for the equalizer with a nicely worked set-play that saw Luiz steal a yard on the Leicester defense and head home.

Pepe did eventually win a penalty via an awful handball by Ndidi which Lacazette dispatched before halftime.

A nice movement up the field allowed Pepe-Odegaard and Willian to combine for Pepe to get a tap-in to make it three.

Leicester rarely threatened as Mari and Luiz kept Vardy at bay as Arsenal come back to London with 3 points and renewed optimism as we enter the final half of the season.

In a season defining fixture Arsenal squeak home with a thriller in Athens.

Auba scored first with a great chipped finish assisted by Saka. Ceballos gave away a free kick which was duly dispatched to make it 1-1 at halftime.

Ceballos’ poor header after the restart allowed Benfica to get in and make it 2-1 and leaving Arsenal needing to score twice to go through.

Tierney stood up. Led the team up the field and scored with an excellent finish before 3 minutes from the end of regulation Saka stepped up with a perfect cross for Auba to end the tie.

The team nearly shot themselves in the foot with needless mistakes despite being the better side over two legs.

Lots to work on but tonight all Arsenal fans give thanks for the leaders and star players that are Tierney, Saka and Aubameyang.

Arsenal slide to to their 11th defeat of the season against league leader City who scored within the opening 2 minutes through Sterling.

With a crucial second leg against Benfica coming, Arteta started the likes of Elneny and Mari whilst Smith-Rowe was benched.

With Arsenal conceding early it looked like another battering but the team looked safe at 1-0 with some good movements coming through Odegaard and Pepe.

Unfortunately the midifield pairing of Elneny and Xhaka just isn’t progressive enough in its passing to break through and Aubameyanng again was below par.

City threatened a few times through Sterling, De Bruyne and Cancelo but Arsenal kept it to 1 goal.

Benfica at 1-1 headed into the second leg...a crucial season defining fixture

Arsenal go down to Wolves 2-1 and the unbeaten run ends but all talk around a ridiculous red card that wasn’t one when Luiz overran Jose who took a dive in the box to win a penalty.

Arsenal completely dominated the first 45min and Pepe produced a superb solo goal to lead 1-0 before the referee and VAR conspired to turn the game.

At 1-1 and with 10 men, Arsenal were always going to struggle and Moutinho smacked a 30 years stunner to compound misery.

Leno also got sent off late and will now miss 2 games with Luiz.

Blame lies at the feet of poor refereeing and inconsistent application of VAR not the team tonight.

The January transfer window slams shut as Mustafi leaves to Schalke after having his contract cancelled whilst Joe Willock joins Newcastle on loan and Ainsley Maitland-Niles heads to West Brom till the end of the season.

All in all, despite taking some expensive losses on players bought for high fees or on high wages, the Edu and the team have set the club up for a promising summer.

High salaried deadwood off the books (Kolasninac, Sokratis and Mustafi) , good youth prospects (AMN, Willock and Saliba) off on loan to get crucial playing time or increase their price and two important signings in to add depth and quality in Ryan and Odegaard.

So it ends 0-0 against Manchester United. Missing Tierney, Saka and Aubameyang due to injury and personal leave both clubs appeared to be going at it from the get go with chances falling to Fred and Pepe for both sides.

Arsenal were strong around the 60 min mark with Laca hitting the post from the free-kick and looked likely to score meanwhile, Cavani missed a prime opportunity at the other end.

Partey looked a little short of fitness whilst Pepe looked threatening, Holding and Luiz were also strong at the back.

Arsenal get up on Newcastle 3-0 with Smith-Rowe and Saka at the heart of it all including a delightful 2nd goal.

Newcastle rung the changes and looked slightly more threatening in the initial before Arsenal started to create all the opportunities going forward with Partey at the center of all of them with his crispness in possession and range of passing on show.

Aubameyang missed a sitter but redeemed himself after the restart by finishing a superb cross field pass from Partey before ESR took the ball down to the field to assist Saka.

Auba finished it off with a tap-in from Cedric and Arsenal moved into 10th

The end of Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal career has come with the player and his management reaching a contract termination with the club so that he can join Fenerbache.

A bittersweet moment, Ozil probably one of the most talented players of his generation whose signing marked the promise of something great for the club and provided fans with one of the best deadline days ever.

Ozil won 4 FA cups in his time at Arsenal and was part of the team that helped the club break an 11 year trophy drought.

He leaves having played 184 games for the club, scoring 33 times and assisted on 55.

Thank you for 7 years of great play and good memories. Good luck on your next journey with Fenerbache!

After a 3 match win streak in the League, Arsenal fail to break down Crystal Palace and only manager a draw at home.

With Tierney and Mari out, it became apparent that Arsenal we’re struggling without the width the left-back brings. Mainland-Niles struggled and Pepe brought on as a substitute did as well as Arsenal once again struggled to break down a team playing on the low block.

On the upside, Partey looked strong in his cameo and hopefully will find his best form with a run of games coming.

Remains fairly apparent that despite ESR’s emergence, the team still require a creative midfielder (Buendia?) to help Aubameyang out of his scoring funk.

It’s looking highly likely that Ozil and Sokratis will leave before the window is done so it falls to Edu to get a body in before the window shuts
