So many thanks to everyone I have worked with throughout 2018. Thank you for making the time to improve and for all your hard work along the way!

Looking ahead to 2019 we see the big news for existing golfers is the change in rules after several years of consultation and review. The R&A have updated a good deal of the existing rule book to simplify and clarify many areas and to speed up general play.

I for one am pleased to see that a local rule can now permit a lost ball situation to be resolved in a new way with a two stroke penalty [instead of the old stroke and distance penalty]. If you have already found out about this what is your favourite new rule? Does anyone have any questions to discuss here?

On a side note, having practised a good deal more this year, I discovered a new feel on the downswing which has eliminated the hook spin that has often troubled longer shots I play. Its so incredible that so many years on, this secret has evaded me until now. Strangely I had used this particular secret with a tournament player many many years ago but never applied this process to my own game. This discovery came about during an extended practice session earlier this year and has left me inspired to play a few events next year - watch this space!
