🏉 U12 GIRLS RUGBY – NEW PLAYERS WELCOME! ❤️💛

With rugby training back underway, we’re looking to welcome more Year 6 & Year 7 girls to our U12 Girls team at Richmondshire RUFC.

If you’re a parent looking for a new activity for your daughter, rugby is a fantastic way for them to build confidence, get active, learn new skills and make new friends — all while being part of a supportive team.

And don’t worry if she’s never played rugby before! No experience is needed and all abilities are welcome. Our friendly coaches will help new players learn the basics and, most importantly, have fun. 🙌

🏃‍♂️ THE SHIRE’S MOST UNLIKELY DISTANCE RUNNER! 🏃‍♂️

We’ve got some worrying news from The Shire…

Our resident 40-year-old, 18-stone, loosehead prop has apparently decided that running a half marathon is a good idea. 🤦‍♂️

Yes, 13.1 miles.

For context, his idea of cardio is usually running to the bar for a Scrum & Egg Scotch Egg at the end of a game. 😂

Yet somehow, on Sunday 13th September, he’ll be swapping scrums, scotch eggs and pints for lycra, running shoes and the Great North Run, all in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

We’re not entirely sure what’s more impressive — the fact he’s actually managed to train for it, or the fact that his knees have survived long enough to get him to the start line.

But to his credit, he’s kept putting the miles in and is determined to get himself around 13.1 miles.

So, as his club, we thought we’d do the decent thing and take the mick out of him publicly while asking you to give him some money. 😂

You’ll be supporting a fantastic cause AND potentially contributing to the medical fund required to put an 18-stone loosehead back together afterwards. 😂
