Fun, friendly swimming lessons for ages 3-93! We swim at QE Boys’, Whitings Hill School & The Venue.

Broomfield Park Swimming Club goes back over 100 years, to a group of gentlemen swimming in the lake of the newly-opened Broomfield Park, and we still embrace their ideals of a club where all ages, from young children to grandparents and older, can swim for enjoyment, fitness and the fun of competition. We have remained very much a “family club”, but one which, although fairly small, can offer everything from teaching young children, to quality competitive swimming, to “proper” swimming for adults of all ages.

Get pool ready!

All swimming lessons and squads start again from Tuesday 2 September at QE Boys’ and LTS at Whitings Hill from Tuesday 9 September.

Sunday training at The Venue resumes Sunday 7 September - please note this term will now run at the slightly later time of 5-6.30pm for Junior and Senior Squads with NO land training and as usual from 8am for Adults & Masters.

We were so thrilled to have an extremely special poolside visit from Adam Peaty’s AP Race team this week. 😀

Olympic champion Anna Hopkin MBE,🏅Commonwealth champion Elliot Clegg 🏅 and AP Race Development Director Kevin Pickard 🏊‍♂️gave BPSC’s squads some inspirational coaching, championship advice and motivational tips.

BPSC is so grateful to these awesome athletes for finding the time to support our swimmers - the atmosphere in the pool was electric and our squads jumped at the chance for autographs and photos with these swimming legends - thanks so much guys, you made our year! 😊

Also, Kevin Pickard has very kindly offered to run an online workshop for guardians and coaches with hot tips and recommendations to improve our swimming experiences. This will happen before the end of term - so watch this space 👀

An extra shout out to Rosie and Celine for organising and their ongoing support and love for the club and all our swimmers - they rock! 🤘🏻

Congratulations to all of our brilliant Junior and Development Squad swimmers who competed at the weekend, with many excellent PBs achieved and medals won. 🏅 🏅🏅🏅

Well done to all the swimmers this weekend! Also it was the first gala for some - you all smashed it, we hope you enjoyed it.

A special mention has to go to all of you who picked up speeding tickets which, while no substitute for medals, are a wonderful achievement as you have massively improved on your previous times, and you are getting ever closer to County qualification times.

Well done to speed demons Arty, Huxley Leila, Liam, and Zoe for acheiving these! 👍👍👍👍👍

But my biggest shout out is reserved for Alexandra, who absolutely demolished her PBs in all 5 of her races, and was streaks ahead of the rest of the field in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. But for her 3 speeding tickets she would have been laden with silverware, and this was an especially bitter pill to swallow as she swam exceptionally well. Well done Alexandra, you were my swimmer of the meet!

Another cracking final weekend of the Summer London Championships

Eve had a consistent 50 Breast, Jäger got a PB in his 100 Backstroke and a consistent time in his 200 Backstroke.

Felix got into the finals of the 100 Breaststroke and a PB also. And Orlagh got into the finals of the 100 Free, a PB and got a consistent time in her 400 Freestyle. She got into the finals of the 200 Backstroke getting 2nd place and another PB to end up the day.

As always Rosie was really delighted with how well the swimmers got on - it was a long weekend with lots of lessons learnt to bring back to training.

A cracking first weekend at the SE London Summer Championships with PBs for Amy 100 Fly, Maggie 50 Free, Orlagh 100 Backstroke & Felix 200 Breaststroke.

Felix was a reserve finalist, and Orlagh won a silver medal in her finals coming 2nd.

Rosie is very proud of all the swimmers’ achievements this weekend 👍
