UPDATE on BROADWATER LAKE & SAILING CLUB etc.

Broadwater SC will continue to provide a popular, friendly sailing club well into the future, just as we have done for more than 50 years! :-)

Broadwater Lake has been purchased by the London Borough of Hillingdon because HS2 made money available after putting a viaduct through the old HOAC site (Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre). LBH have planning permission to build a new activity & training centre at the south end of Broadwater Lake.

Broadwater Sailing Club are getting a 3 year lease agreement to continue to operate from our current location at Broadwater until the new facility is completed. We will then move to the new centre at the south with a new long term lease.

It is with regret, that we have taken the decision to postpone tomorrow’s Broadwater Aero Open event until later in the year due to lack of wind. We will try and rearrange the event for later in the year, subject to space in both the Broadwater and RS Aero Class calendars.

Our frozen lake has been leaving 20+ Weds sailors with nothing to do while waiting for a lovely, homemade, AL FRESCO LUNCH - except chat, drink coffee, admire our view thru' the fog & take scenic photos...!!

We haven't been able to go sailing for a week because the lake has been frozen & at least one of our local residents is not amused either! :-)
