If you’re tired of trying to learn your favourite KPop dance routines by yourself and struggling to follow mirrored dance tutorials, then look no further than the London KPop Dance Workshop. Our team of four teachers – although none are professionals – have all had some experience in dancing, ranging from ballroom, street, ballet, tap, modern, jazz and contemporary. Since opening up the workshop o
n September 5th 2011, the London KPop Dance Workshop has seen it’s popularity rise from just 8 students a session to over 30. Not only that, the LoKo Team that are at the helm of the London KPop Dance Workshop have organised masterclasses with professional dancers, including SM Entertainment back up dancer/choreographer Baek Koo Young. Not only have the workshops gained a respectable name for itself, so have the LoKo team. The LoKo team – which includes the four teachers and a wide array of dancers (all handpicked from the workshop itself) – have performed and worked for clubs, private parties, the Korean Cultural Centre, The Thames Festival 2012 and been on both Korean and British TV. In October 2013, 6 members of the LoKo Team competed in the "KPop Cover Dance Festival" - a global competition where 15 teams get sent to Korea to compete to win the chance of performing at the Hallyu Dream Concert in Gyeongju, where lots of KPop Idols perform. Team LoKo were very lucky and honoured to have been in the top 15.
**If you wish for the LoKo Team to perform at an event or to teach a private workshop then please e-mail [email protected]. Rates will depend on how much studio time will be needed for the occasion. Please also note that the LoKo Team require a minimum of 3 weeks notice.**
The LoKo team do their ultimate best to look after all their students – if you’re stuck, don’t be shy or scared to ask for help. The majority of our students have had little to no experience so if you’re concerned about how you’re going to fit in – don’t worry at all. You’re all in the same boat, so don’t worry about worrying...have fun! So how expensive are these dance classes? They are so inexpensive, be ready to be mind blown! For a full 7 hours of pure KPop it is just £12, absolute bargain! **Please note that masterclass tariffs will vary**
Workshop times vary, although they are usually 10am-5pm, or 11am-6pm. The locations also vary (although always London based) so please always check the details on the event pages, which are usually released 2-3 weeks before the event. Our workshops also usually fall on a Sunday and we usually have one once a month. FAQs:
HOW DO I BECOME A TEACHER? Sorry, we are not looking for any more teachers. HOW DO I BECOME A DANCER? Our dancers are hand picked. If you're chosen - congrats! Although at the moment we are not on the lookout for new dancers. HOW DO I JOIN? When an event page is released, just click "attending". What, it's that simple? And then turn up, of course. That always helps. CAN I HIRE THE DANCERS? Yes, the LoKo Team are always delighted to perform and/or teach private workshops. However, the LoKo Team have their own jobs to attend to so a minimum of three weeks notice is absolutely required. Rates will depend on how much studio time is needed for the occasion. IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR YOUR WORKSHOP? Nope! DO I NEED DANCING EXPERIENCE TO JOIN? I HAVE A QUESTION, WHO DO I CONTACT?
