“Volleyball is an Olympic team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organised rules.”
The Imperial College Volleyball Club (ICVC), is open to players of all levels, as it competes at a high level of British University Volleyball whilst also providing a platform for beginners and intermed
iate players to develop on and gain experience. For competitive players, we have a Men’s and a Women’s team in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) league – currently both in the first division. We also have a Women’s team in the local London League, where we try to provide an on-court experience for everyone and allow for non-competitive players to take part and build up their skills. We have regular training sessions – Men’s and Women’s – under the supervision of a qualified coach, including technical skills training and a fitness programme at the Ethos Sports Centre (South Kensington Campus). Whether or not you have played Volleyball before, our club caters for most. It’s about improving your individual skills, playing in a team, and joining us after training or games in the local pub for the in-depth post-analysis. We also generate numerous fun experiences and memories off-court by organising a number of social events throughout the year, ranging from dinners to bowling, skating and bar/club nights.
