All welcome! You are invited to Glebelands Indoor Bowls Club in Finchley for a fantastic OPEN WEEKEND! This event is perfect for anyone looking to have a fun time and learn a new skill – whatever your age! The gentle exercise is good for flexibility and balance but the friendships will make you healthier and live longer (true fact)!

Results from yesterday at the Bowls England para doubles final with Rhys Lewis and Aaron Langley which ended with a nail-biting extra tie-break decider end with the win going to opponents Chris Bell and Dave Houghton, 20:19. Unbelievably tight competitive match, amazing skills by all, well done to everyone!

On Sunday 16 and Monday 17 August, Rhys Lewis will be playing at Leamington Spa in the Bowls England National finals where he has qualified for the Para singles and pairs. Good luck Rhys and let the good times roll 💪

Found this aerial view of the club when the outdoor green was in operation. It’s been over 10 years since the outdoor green was closed, it used to be the home for Bishopswood Bowls Club, but with dwindling members they moved to their location in Hampstead Garden Suburb and Glebelands didn’t want to take it on at the time. The lease for the outdoor green was relinquished and it will form part of the new residential and commercial development at the Great North Leisure Park going forward. Nowadays it is overgrown and has a family of foxes living there.

If you like a vintage video, check this out from 2016. I guess it’s not really vintage, I have shoes older than this! It’s a great record of the club and lots of it hasn’t changed at all but I’ve never seen the welcome sign over the door before, and it looks like the building exterior is yellow (it’s white now). Found on YouTube and uploaded by Kenneth Callingham.

Statement from the Met Police: “the victim is still in intensive care at hospital but we cannot yet confirm whether the injuries are life threatening.”

Met Police confirm 20 year old man arrested in connection with ongoing investigation.

“A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday, 4 July. “He remains in custody for questioning. “Enquires are ongoing. If you were a witness, please call police on 101 with the reference 1492/4Jul.”
