My dad‘s brother Harold finished 17th in the Open at Muirfield in 1948. He was rewarded with a £16 prize, equivalent in today’s money to £920. Open champion that year was Henry Cotton, who won the princely sum of £160. Around £8,500 in today’s my money Harold enjoyed a good career being six time, Welsh professional champion and twice representing Wales in the World Cup of golf. Dad and his two brothers were born in the green keepers cottage at the back of the 17th green at Royal Porthcawl venue of the upcoming British Women’s Open

Really pleased that Rory finally did the business on Sunday. We have never met him as when we were on tour he was still just a young boy. However, what we do know for a fact, is that his boyhood lifelong coach Michael Bannon is a great fan of our 2004 book The Swing Factory! 🏌️‍♂️📗
