Monday at the Stack & Tilt Network training day with Andy Plummer.

Days like this are a reminder of just how deep this game really is - and how much detail sits underneath simple, effective coaching.

A standout piece from the day was Andy’s breakdown of where speed is really created in the swing: the angular velocity of the trail shoulder, and the abduction/adduction of the lead arm — rather than simply trying to rotate the spine and chest harder.

Serious detail. Serious clarity.

A special mention too to Billy irvine and Rob Cheney | Golf Instructor & Coach, who first introduced me properly to Stack & Tilt a couple of years ago. That opened up a whole new level of understanding for me as a coach, and I’m very grateful for that.

It was also brilliant to see my old Head Pro and old co-worker Ryan Gribben, who had both flown over from in Ireland - where I first began my The PGA training. A lovely full-circle moment!

The final image probably says it all: Andy’s drawings from the day. Incredible detail, knowledge and structure behind what, at its best, should look simple to the player.

Always learning. Always sharpening the craft.

Your swing path often starts under your feet.

Where your pressure is positioned can have a big influence on whether the club works more from the inside or more from the outside.

In this clip, I’m showing how a simple pressure shift can change the route of the club - without needing to overcomplicate the swing.

Small changes. Clear feedback. Better movement.

Lessons available at West Middlesex GC and SGC Wandsworth Common.

Have you considered your hand path?

Most golfers watch the club

But often, the deeper pattern is in the route the hands take

When the hands move with the body, the club can travel more naturally

3 new events now live at West Middlesex Golf Club 🏌🏻

Over the next few weeks I’m launching three group coaching/community formats:

Women’s Beginner Group
Starts Monday 1st June
A relaxed 6-week coaching programme for women who are new to golf or want to build confidence in a friendly group setting.

The Monthly — LGBT Golf
Wednesday 27th May, 6–8pm
A relaxed evening of golf, coaching and community in a welcoming LGBT+ friendly environment.

The Monday Club
Starts Monday 11th May, 11am–12pm
A new weekly coached practice session for men and women of all levels — designed to help you keep improving with structure, support and a relaxed club atmosphere.

These are all part of a bigger shift in how I’m building my coaching — more community, more structure, and more ways for people to enjoy improving together.

Tree blocking your path?

Small course-management moment from a recent playing lesson at West Middlesex Golf Club

When your swing path is restricted, the clubface becomes your biggest weapon. Close the face, swing where you have room, and the ball can still start left towards your target

These are the kinds of shots we work through in playing lessons - real situations, real decisions, real golf

A brief clip from a recent playing lesson.

Greenside wedge shot from a sloped lie, with the focus on how spine and shoulder tilt influence low point control.

These are the small details that make awkward lies much more manageable on the course.

A lot of golfers lose distance with driver because the attack angle is too steep.

Here’s a simple change I use to help get golfers out of negative attack angle numbers.

Better strike, better launch, better numbers.

A brief excerpt from a recent bunker lesson.

The focus here was on creating a shallower motion, using the bounce of the wedge, and producing a proper splash-style bunker shot.

Keeping the pressure forward, with the face slightly open, helps the club move through the sand more effectively.

The course asks different questions than the range

On-course coaching is about more than swing mechanics. It’s about making better decisions in real situations, club selection, target clarity, playing off slopes, staying present, and responding well when things don’t go to plan

That’s often where lower scores begin 🏌🏻

This week I had the opportunity to speak with award-winning LGBT sports podcast host, Jack Murley.

We discussed coming out in golf, stepping away from the game at my peak, and what high performance really means — both on and off the course.

Golf and The PGA have been very good to me. They’ve given me a career and a platform to build LGBT Golf — a London-based community focused on inclusivity and genuine performance development.

But the deeper theme of the conversation wasn’t technical. It was authenticity.

Because performance without alignment is temporary.

Traditional environments evolve when people are willing to be visible — and I’m proud to contribute to that evolution within golf.
