Some of my favourite poses, and why they’ve earned a permanent spot in my routine:
Cat-Cow → keeps my spine moving, releases tension through my back, and is the easiest way to wake everything up after long hours sitting.
Squat → brilliant for hip mobility, knee health, and building lower‑body strength that actually supports everyday life.
Plank → builds upper‑body strength, challenges the core, and teaches real stability — not just the “hold your breath and hope” kind.
Child’s Pose → my go‑to for stretching the spine, easing lower‑back tension, and helping the whole system settle when things feel a bit much.
Cobra → opens the chest, stretches the front body, and gently counters that rounded posture we all fall into.
These are the poses I come back to again and again - not because they look good, but because they make me feel good.
If you’d like to explore these shapes with me, you’re welcome in any of my weekly classes in the Barnet area:

Thursday — 7.00pm, Subud Centre (Main Hall), EN4
Saturday — 11.15am, Subud Centre (Upper Hall), EN4
