Meet Our WAPPING WILDCATS! 🐾

Introducing our new all-girls side, the Wapping Wildcats 😊

Our newly formed all-girls side ranges from 7-11 years old. We want to replicate the success of our other youth setups, where talented players have progressed from our Development Hubs. This is exactly what we have done here, with the Wildcats. Now they’re involved team based training and playing competitive football, representing Wapping Youth as part of the official girls' team, the Wapping Wildcats 🟡⚪️

Here are few words from Coach Ozzie🎙:

“We aim to have a 6-month season of weekly matches against other girls' teams, age-appropriate tournaments and in-house/external friendly matches, all for developmental purposes.

So far the training has been going very well, I am pleased with the progress our girls are making, and I am looking forward to what the future holds for them. All the girls have the potential to go far and with more training, we will continue to build up great players. The girls all look forward to training on a Saturday, they are happy to be a part of something positive. They have built relationships with each other and I see the real joy in their participation.

We are also having lots of fun, as I know they're getting to express themselves through football. I am excited to take part in more matches and just excited overall for all that’s to come” 🙌

LET’S GO LIONESSES! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏃‍♀️

Wapping Womens FC, Wapping Youth FC, Wapping In The Community, and Newham Borough Council have partnered together to bring you "Wapping Women’s Fun Day" 😊

All in support of our Lionesses, who are playing in the Euros 👏 They’re smashing it and hopefully they can bring it home.. 🏆 👏

We are offering a full day of fun FREE football activities, including: Football Golf, Inflatable shootout, Zorb Football, Football Pool, Football Darts! 🙌

FREE face paint for all! 🎨

REGISTRATION IS COMPLETELY FREE! Just turn up & and have FUN ⚽

Last night we peeled ourselves off the sofa to with our oh so sweet but a psycho coach ...Jk, we loved every second - but especially the bit at the end where we all get to chat and laugh and complain a bit 😘

We’d normally be training together tonight - but It’s not just the game we miss, it’s the people!

From mums to students, every character (and we have some 💞😂) has a different story, motivation or goal that got them to the pitch and that’s one of our biggest strengths as a community 💙
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to introduce you to some of our players, their lockdown 2.0 tips and footy tricks, and hopefully inspire you to get back on the pitch in December. No matter how chilly it is! 🙌🏽

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
Boys in EFL and Premier League youth talent pathways are so far still able to train, but girls in Women's Super league and Championship teams have been told to shut down.
All "non-elite" women's teams are currently suspended - pausing the Women’ FA Cup - but all men's fixtures are going ahead this weekend including 10 "non-elite" sides.
Have we missed something? Are girls untrustworthy? Please can someone explain? What year is this?

Actual scenes last night - real blood (1x nose), sweat & tears fighting to get one more of so many shots past goalie ...no luck and almost a scary finish from ! Super striker .s.v smashed our goal in and the whole team played their odd socks off. Well done girls! 🔥

V happy to take a point home from that gutsy battle, but gutted to say goodbye to the league for a little while... 💔
