Weight loss and body composition aren’t the same thing.

You can lose weight by eating less and moving more. The scales go down, but that doesn’t always mean you look, feel, or perform better.

What we focus on at Hounds of Health, and especially in Emergence and the Inner Circle Program, is body composition.

The goal isn’t just to weigh less. The goal is to carry less body fat while building or maintaining muscle, strength, energy and confidence.

The result? You don’t just become a smaller version of yourself. You become a stronger, more capable version of yourself.

Ilia explains the difference in today’s video.

A little behind the scenes from Christian’s Emergence photoshoot.

The final photos always get the attention, but there’s plenty that goes into them. A training session beforehand, a bit of a pump, some posing practice, and working with the photographer to capture the result as accurately as possible.

What you’re seeing here isn’t a trick of lighting or angles. It’s the result of months of consistent training, nutrition, and effort.

The photos are the reward.

The work happened long before the camera came out.

If you haven’t seen Christian’s full transformation yet, check out the previous posts and hear his story in his own words.

When people see a transformation photo, they often focus on the numbers. The weight lost or the body fat percentage, the before and after.

What matters more is what happens next.

One of the things that stood out most when speaking to Christian about his journey was that this was never about completing a challenge and then going back to normal.

Like many of the people we work with, Christian has a busy life, competing priorities, and a future that extends well beyond a 12-week programme. The goal wasn’t simply to get leaner. The goal was to build habits, routines, and a way of living that could continue long after the photos were taken.

That’s why we’re so proud of his result.

Not just because he lost 8.4kg of body fat during Emergence.

Not just because he gained muscle and transformed his physique.

But because he approached the process in a way that is sustainable.

The photos are a snapshot.

The real achievement is becoming the sort of person who can continue moving forward long after the transformation programme ends.

That’s exactly why Christian has moved into Legacy, where the focus shifts from achieving a result to building on it.

The best transformations aren’t the ones that last 12 weeks.

They’re the ones that change the years that follow.

Check out Christian’s story in his own words.

Nadia’s journey, from her coaches’ perspective.

In this reel, Ilia and I talk through what we saw during Nadia’s 12 weeks on Emergence.

The progress didn’t come from doing anything flashy.

It came from showing up, listening, applying the plan and staying consistent. Nadia got stronger, fitter and more confident because she kept doing the simple things well.

And as coaches, that’s what we love seeing most.

Not just the final result, but the person behind it becoming more capable week by week.

Well done Nadia.

A lot of people can lose 10kg.

The harder question is: can you keep it off?

In this week’s video, Coach Ilia talks about why weight loss isn’t usually the problem. Most people have already proven they can lose weight. The challenge is building the habits, routines and mindset that stop it coming back again.

That’s why we spend less time chasing quick fixes and more time helping people fix the things that caused the problem in the first place.

Lose 10kg? Many programmes can help with that.

Keep it off for years while balancing work, family and life? That’s a different conversation.

Watch the video and let us know what you think. 👇

One thing we’ve noticed over the years is that men often overestimate what they can do, while women often underestimate it.

Men are more likely to load the bar too quickly, chase numbers, and assume they’re capable before they’ve earned the skill.

Women are more likely to be capable of more than they realise, yet hold back because they want to be certain they can do it first.

The interesting part is that neither approach lasts forever.

Once people follow a structured training programme, develop their technique, and gain experience, those differences start to disappear. Confidence becomes backed by evidence, not guesswork. People learn what hard work actually feels like, what good technique looks like, and how to judge their own performance more accurately.

The result? Better decisions, better training, and better results.

In the latest episode of the Beast of Burden Podcast, we discuss some of the differences we’ve observed when coaching men and women, and why the gap is often smaller than people think.

A little behind-the-scenes from Nadia’s Emergence photoshoot.

After 12 weeks of hard work, it was time to celebrate the results.

The day started with Coach Nandor helping Nadia get a good pump before working through some poses and getting comfortable in front of the camera. Like most people, she arrived a little unsure of what to expect, but it didn’t take long before she relaxed and started having fun with it.

What really stood out was how naturally she took to the photoshoot. She listened, experimented with different poses and brought plenty of energy to the day.

The photos are fantastic, but they are really just a chapter of the story.

The real transformation happened during the previous 12 weeks through consistent training, better nutrition, daily movement and trusting the process.

A brilliant result and a well-deserved day in front of the camera. Congratulations, Nadia.

The photos are impressive.

But the real story is what happened between them.

When Nadia joined us, she knew she wanted to get stronger, build muscle and feel more athletic. What she didn’t realise was how much of a difference the small things would make.

During her 12-week Emergence journey, she discovered that she wasn’t moving as much as she thought she was. She learned that consistency beats perfection. She learned that getting enough protein, hitting a step target and turning up to train week after week has a much bigger impact than the supplements and tricks often in magazines.

Most importantly, she proved to herself what she’s capable of.

In this video, Nadia talks about her experience in her own words, what she learned during the programme, the challenges she faced and what helped her create the results you can see in the photos.

There were no shortcuts, no magic tricks and no secret formula.

Just a proven system, consistent action and a willingness to trust the process.

Have a watch and hear the story directly from Nadia herself.

When Nadia joined Hounds of Health, she wasn’t completely new to fitness. She’d always managed to stay in decent shape, but she didn’t feel as strong, athletic or in control of her health as she wanted to.
Like many people, she knew what she should be doing, but consistency was the challenge.
At first, she would have good periods followed by periods where life got in the way. Then something changed.
She stopped looking for the perfect plan and started focusing on consistent action.
Later Nadia joined our 12-week Emergence programme, she committed to the process. She focused on her strength training, increased her daily movement, paid attention to her calorie intake, hit her protein targets and trusted the system.
The result is clear to see.
What makes this transformation even more impressive is that there were no tricks involved.
Such as detoxes or crash diets or secret supplements.
Just consistent effort applied to a proven system. The Hounds of Health method isn’t about finding shortcuts.
It’s about helping busy people focus on the things that actually move the needle and doing them long enough to see meaningful change.
We’re incredibly proud of Nadia and excited to see what she achieves next as she moves into our Legacy programme.

Busy professionals often make the same mistake.

When life gets hectic, they try to squeeze in more training, more cardio, more sessions, more effort.

But they rarely give the same attention to recovery.

In this video, Coach Ilia talks about the balance between training and recovery, and why doing more isn’t always the answer. Recovery isn’t what happens when you’re being lazy. It’s part of the process that allows your body to adapt, get stronger and keep moving forward.

If you’re constantly tired, sore, or feeling like you’re working hard without seeing the results you expect, this one’s worth a watch.
