LET'S TALK INJURIES ❗️
Injuries can be very frustrating, especially if they come at a busy time in our lives. Perhaps a tour, a dance exam or an important audition or casting. They can feel like a huge set back or force you to put a pause on your training & career, however the most important thing to learn as a professional is that your body IS your product and it deserves the best care to perform the best.
Statistics show that 80% of dancers experience at least one injury a year & most of which try to "power through" and don't seek any professional advice.. ask yourself WHY? We need to start investing & appreciating our bodies and not neglecting them!
So the next time your suffering from an ache or pain, here are some little reminders for you...
- Have an epsom salt bath
- Don't ignore the pain, seek professional help
- Drink plenty of water
- Look after your mind (Injuries can be heavy on our mindset too, keep positive & speak up if you're feeling down)
- Follow a rehab and strengthening treatment plan to prevent from re-injury
- Watch & get inspired (You can learn so much from others, book to see a musical, go to a concert, or sit at the front of class and take notes)
- Take time to truly rest & switch off!
