SWITCH...
ON...
MENTAL HEALTH WEEK!!!
This week...
13th-19th MAY
Is MENTAL HEALTH WEEK.
The theme this year, as set by the MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION, is βMovement: moving for our mental health.β This year, we want you to move your way by finding something that moves your body and mind.
SWITCH is ALL about...MOVEMENT.
WHY MOVEMENT MATTERS...
Being physically active is great for our bodies and our minds.
Exercise has been proven to reduce anxiety and depression, and it can help us to prevent physical illnesses. Sadly, people living with mental illness die on average 20 years younger than the general population, often from avoidable physical illness. This group is more likely to develop preventable conditions like diabetes, heart disease, bowel cancer, and breast cancer.
Research shows that 56% of people found that exercising regularly helped them to alleviate stress and prevent burnout in their lives.
Earlier this year, I had to study to prepare for my ON-LINE COURSE.
I am now a MHFA YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID CHAMPION.
MHFA England is a social enterprise with a vision
to improve the mental health of the nation.
Through their training, campaigning, and
reinvesting, they equip people with the skills to
support their own and others' wellbeing.
They believe in zero stigma around mental health.
They want mental health to be openly discussed
and supported. Together, let's create a society
where everyone can thrive.
KEEP MOVING!!!
