🎉 20 Years of Elementz 🎉
2021–2022
A period of rebuilding, growth, and looking forward. ✨
In the midst of Covid, Artistic Director Lindon Barr was awarded a Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) grant from Arts Council England, allowing him to further develop his theatre practice through research and development at Sadler’s Wells and DanceEast. A significant milestone for both Lindon and the future artistic direction of Elementz. 🎭
This era also saw a full company rebrand, refreshing our identity as we emerged from the challenges of the pandemic and stepped into a new chapter.
As the world began to open up again, so did opportunities to travel. We created a brand-new corporate show and relaunched our performance offering, taking work across the globe. Projects included performances in Bahrain with The Greatest Cirque, work in Athens, and contracts with Norwegian Cruise Line, Alton Towers, and The O2. 🌍🔥
Back home, we celebrated another major milestone with our first-ever Academy Show, 15 Years Strong, marking fifteen incredible years of Elementz and bringing together our growing community of dancers and families. ❤️
We also relaunched Elementz Youth in Loughton. Their debut performance as a company saw them crowned UDO Essex Street Dance Champions, an incredible start for the next generation of Elementz dancers. 🏆
Our Training Company found its new home at The Manor LDN, further cementing Elementz’s position within the UK dance scene and strengthening the pathway from Youth Company to Professional Company.
This chapter was also marked by sadness as we said goodbye to Miles Harcombe, a valued member of our Training Company. His loss was felt deeply across the Elementz family, and he remains remembered by all who trained and danced alongside him. 🕊️
