8 months in vs 8 months out 🤍

8 months ago I became a mum, and honestly, I don’t think I realised just how much life was about to change.

My body has changed. My priorities have changed. My business has changed. And I’ve changed. 💘

Coming back to training after having Luna hasn’t been about “getting my body back” because I don’t want the old me back. I want to feel strong, capable and confident in the body that brought my baby into the world. ✨

There have been weeks where I’ve felt strong and motivated, and weeks where just getting a workout in or walking round the park felt like a win.

8 months postpartum and I’m proud of where I am, not because of how I look, but because of everything this body has done and continues to do. 🫶🏼

A little reminder that you don’t need to rush your comeback. You’re allowed to rebuild, slowly. You’re allowed to change. And you’re allowed to be proud of yourself along the way. Always. 🤍 •

🤍 Introducing Babies & Barbells 🤍

When I became a mum and moved to a new area, I realised how important it is to find your people. ✨

I wanted a space where mums could move their bodies, build strength, make friends and feel part of a supportive community, all while having their little ones right by their side. 👶

So I decided to create it. 💕

Babies & Barbells is a welcoming mum and baby strength class where your little one is always welcome. No need to worry if they need feeding, cuddles or a nappy change, it’s all part of the class!

✨ 45-minute full body strength workout
👶 Babies welcome
☕ 15-minute coffee & chats afterwards
🤍 Suitable from 6 weeks postpartum (with medical clearance)
📍 Move Studios, Macclesfield
🗓 Mondays | 11:15am
📅 Starting 14th September
💷 £6 trial class
⚡ Limited spaces available

Whether you’re new to strength training or already love the gym, this class is about so much more than exercise. It’s about leaving feeling stronger, more confident and connected, while building friendships with other local mums who just get it. 💘

I’d love to welcome you and your little one to the Babies & Barbells community. 💗

8 months of breastfeeding ✨✨✨

Never thought we’d get here at the start, I always thought breastfeeding would come so easy and naturally which I’m sure it does for some women but that wasn’t our experience at the start. 🤍

There were many tears and pain. My friend said to me “you’re both learning together, neither of you have done it before, give it time” and I loved this so much.

In time with support we figured it out and it became that beautiful bonding experience I’d heard of. Now I feel sad that it will come to an end one day. 😢

However you chose to feed your baby is the right thing for you and I believe it shouldn’t come at the expense of your mental health. There are so many reasons it might not work out the way you hoped but that’s ok, give yourself grace million times over. 🤍 •

It was the end of an era…. 💔😭

Can’t actually put into words the love and gratitude I have for F45 Training Ealing ❤️ but I’m gonna try… 🤣

It’s time for me to say goodbye to the most formative, joyful, fun chapter of my life. When I left behind a corporate job and everything I had ever known to step into something so new and scary I never in a million years believed I would still be there almost 7 years later.
And that you can actually have fun and enjoy work?!

F45 Training Ealing has become family over that time and honestly one of the main reasons we stayed in London so long. To have been apart of so many people journeys over the last 7 years has been an absolute pleasure and to every person I have crossed paths with I have LOVED getting to know you all and helping in some way towards your health and fitness. ❤️ It really does bring me so much joy seeing you get stronger and more confident and put your health first.

I am so grateful to Buz Roberts who honestly took a chance on me and believed in me and has been the best most inspiring boss woman to me and now a friend. Thank you a million times over. 🥹

To all the trainers past and present, you have taught me so many things and are all so inspiring and honestly the most fun people to work alongside. 🥹

How lucky am I to have something so hard to say goodbye to. 💔

I’ll never ever forget this experience but it’s time to move to the next chapter in my life and I’m excited for what this might bring… watch this space. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Post partum body image ✨

I’d be lying if I’d say I haven’t had some bad body images days during post partum, especially triggered by lots of weddings this year and finding a dress to fit my new body (& b***s) 🙃

How this is different to me in past is I don’t act on those thoughts. I reframe this into ‘My body grew and birthed my beautiful baby girl’ and I make sure I focus on nutritious & balanced meals with the treats Ofc (hello sweet tooth) And not under-eat and overtrain! 🚫

Why is it that a woman’s body is celebrated during pregnancy then afterwards she’s expected to ‘bounce back’ and look like she’s never had a baby?!

As much as I have the bad days my main feeling is still gratitude and love for my body, during pregnancy I was suprised at how much I appreciated my changing body, but I always caveated it with ‘but I know lots of women struggle post birth’. Im so proud of my body for what it’s been through, yes it’s changed but I wouldn’t change that. 🤍

Bodies are meant to change weather you’ve had a baby or not and that’s ok. Our worth isn’t in the way we look, and now I have a daughter I want her to know this more than anything 🤍✨ •
