INSTAGRAM UPDATES FOR 2022!
✅ Educational content
This is the most shareable content currently on the platform, and if your content is shareable then more eyeballs will see it. This doesn’t mean you have to only be teaching people how to do things, but be a spokesperson for your niche. This works best with “snackable” content, so reels and carousels work best.
✅ The main feed MAY change to videos
Instagrams main feed has always been photos first, then came video up to 1 min on the main feed, later IGTV (which has now been scrapped!) and recently reels, but many have predicted that in 2022 the main feed may change to video form exclusively.
✅ Stories are important
Stories in my opinion have been the underdog of Instagram. It’s an amazing way to connect with your audience and for them to see the reel you, the conversational you, and a more intimate side of you. People are sick of over edited stuff and that’s why stories are really great for connecting to and nurturing your audience. Instagram is also testing 60 seconds stories.
✅ The Metaverse and NFTs
Virtual reality is going to be pushed massively now that Facebook, or should I say Meta, have decided that this is going to be the next big thing. As we know Instagram is also owned by Mr Z. So I would hop on this movement early. It’s always a good idea to be one of the early creators on a platform when it first starts as it’s a lot easier to grow.
✅ Small but smart creators will have the opportunity to boom financially
The algorithm… so the rules have changed for the better this past year for smaller creators. It’s not as unpredictable. Be creative, and more authentic and make content that speaks to people and the algorithm will reward you. Creative to grab peoples attention, authentic to keep them there.
