🌿 Happy Friday from London Equine Therapy 🌿

Today we are delighted to welcome our Friday group from a leading addiction clinic in North London.

Over the past year, it has been a privilege to support these groups on their recovery journey.

Throughout the year, we have witnessed qualities that are central to recovery:

✨ Courage
✨ Commitment
✨ Camaraderie

🐴 How can equine-assisted sessions support addiction recovery?

How we show up matters.

Sometimes what feels like a horse problem is actually an invitation.

An invitation to slow down.

To listen.

To heal.

To grow.

Where the trust begins.

The most meaningful partnerships are rarely built through control. They are built through trust. And trust begins within.

📢 Looking ahead

We are also pleased to announce that from August, London Equine Therapy will begin working with a second leading hospital in Central London, supporting their addiction recovery programme.

Thank you to our clients, partners, and horses for making this work possible.

Wishing everyone a fun and relaxing Bank Holiday weekend 🤍

Crumpet is clearly making the most of it… fully switched off, snoring away and enjoying some well-deserved rest 😴

What do you think he’s dreaming about? Fresh grass? Running with friends? Extra treats? Let us know in the comments—we’d love to hear your thoughts!

Fun fact: horses can sleep standing up by locking their joints, which helps them stay safe in the wild. But for a proper deep sleep, they need to lie down—just like Crumpet here.

We hope you’re finding your own moments to slow down and rest this weekend too 🤍

✨ Year of the Horse Workshop ✨

Today at London Equine Therapy we were delighted to host a special workshop inspired by the Year of the Horse.

Together, we explored energy, intention-setting and how we might navigate the challenges and opportunities this year may bring. The horse symbolises power, freedom, forward movement and courage — but also sensitivity and awareness. Through guided experiential work with the herd, our guests were invited to reflect on what moving forward truly means in their own lives.

One of the most powerful aspects of equine-assisted work is the depth it naturally creates. Horses respond to what is genuine — our energy, our clarity, our boundaries. In that honest reflection, people often discover insights that go far beyond conversation alone.

We felt truly honoured to hold this space and to witness the openness and meaningful reflections shared by everyone who joined us.

If you would like to arrange a bespoke workshop for your group — whether centred around intention-setting, leadership, wellbeing or personal development — please do get in touch. We would be delighted to create something meaningful and tailored for you.

✨ We’re in print! ✨

We’re so excited to share that our article about London Equine Therapy is now published in Horse & Country Magazine, Autumn 2025 edition 🐴🍂

In this feature, we talk about:
— how horses support emotional healing
— our approach to equine therapy
— why connection, safety and presence are at the heart of everything we do
— and how our Totteridge space became a haven for reflection and growth

It’s incredibly special to see our work represented in a national equestrian magazine and to help raise awareness about the depth and impact of equine therapy.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey — our clients, our herd, and our wider community. This is your story too 🤍

If you get your hands on a copy, let us know what you think!

With gratitude,
The London Equine Therapy Team 🐎✨

🎥 Part 4: A Closing Reflection

✨ We’re grateful for the opportunity to share this message with the wider world, and to continue holding this space for people and horses together.

Thank you, BBC Sounds and Short Cuts, for helping us share our story.

🎥 Part 3: Reconnecting with Ourselves

When we go through trauma or overwhelming experiences, it can feel like certain doors inside us quietly shut.

In this part of the interview, we speak about how equine therapy offers a gentle path to reconnect with those closed-off parts — to slowly make peace with our inner world and rebuild a sense of wholeness.

🌿 With the support of the horse, we don’t force anything open — we listen, we notice, and we give space for what wants to unfold.

🎥 Part 2: About London Equine Therapy

What do we do at London Equine Therapy?

In this part of our BBC interview, we share who we work with and what our approach is.

We welcome people from all walks of life. Whether you’re going through something difficult, feeling disconnected, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself — this work offers space to pause, reflect, and heal.

🎥 Part 1: The Healing Power of Horses

We were honoured to be featured in BBC Sounds’ Short Cuts episode, Devotions, where we spoke about how deeply healing horses can be.

In this part, we explore the quiet yet powerful role horses play in human healing — how their presence, sensitivity, and ability to reflect what we feel can support people in reconnecting with themselves.

You can find the link to the full episode in the bio. We will post couple of more highlights of that interview in the next couple of days.

🍂Benefits of foraging🍂

As half-term approaches, it’s the perfect time to step outdoors, and observe the season’s offerings.

One of our popular activities is foraging in the fields with the horses: gathering conkers, acorns, berries, mushrooms, sloes — each walk reminds us how much there is to discover when we move at nature’s pace.

Foraging isn’t just about finding things.
It’s about being present.
Noticing the rustle of leaves under your feet, the scent of damp earth, or observing beautiful colours of the berries in your hand.

It’s a simple, grounding way to reconnect — with nature, with our senses, and with ourselves.
Just like the horses, who live in a state of quiet awareness and attunement to their surroundings, foraging invites us to listen, feel, and respond to the moment.
