This time last year, we made the decision to keep our 2024 climbing prices into 2025. Despite ever-rising costs, we wanted to stay accessible to our community for as long as possible, because we know how important it is to climb. Our promise was to maintain these prices until at least the Summer, but in the end, we ended up managing to maintain them all year - making us proud to be one of the most affordable climbing walls in London - never sacrificing quality in being so.
Now, as we are heading into 2026, we are reviewing all of this once again. All of the associated costs of running the wall - rent, bills, the cost of equipment, building materials and wages - have once again increased. In addition this year, we have continued to invest heavily in our facilities; from new ventilation systems, brand new holds, and equipment, to our new events and socials program - we are committed to continually improving our offering. So we know that our community would understand if we, like many other walls in the city, raised our prices on the basis that it had simply become necessary to do so...
But, here’s the thing - there is one big cost we’ve never had to worry about; the profit of investors. Unlike most other walls, we’re an independent wall run by a charity, and all of the money we make gets reinvested into the centre and the charitable aims of Development Through Challenge. This allows us to do things a little bit differently... and so:
We are *not* raising our climbing prices for 2026.
Our mission remains simple: to make climbing accessible - and we don’t think our community should have to bear the rising costs.
Don’t get us wrong - it won’t be easy! And so, for anyone who wishes to do so, you will be able to increase the cost of your own climbing on a voluntary basis and to whatever degree you choose. Speak to our reception team to find out more! For everyone else, support us by becoming a regular - this place relies on all you wonderful people that come time and time again to share in our love of climbing here at Mile End.
There’s not much more to it than that! See you at the wall.
