Why I Open My Sundays for Clients
When I first started my career coaching business, I followed the conventional model—hourly sessions, once or twice a month. However, I quickly realised that no two clients had the same needs. Each career transition is unique, and for many of my clients—whether they are at a self-initiated crossroads or facing unexpected change—Sunday evenings became the hardest time of the week.
The pattern was undeniable: anxiety would set in, thoughts would spiral, and by the time Monday arrived, they already felt exhausted.
Familiar? You are not alone.
Here are a few quick ways to ease the anxiety:
✅ Name what you’re feeling. Acknowledge your stress instead of suppressing it. Writing it down can help.
✅ Plan one thing to look forward to on Monday. A small positive action—like scheduling a lunch with a colleague you enjoy or blocking time for deep work—can shift your mindset.
✅ Detach from work tonight. Set a clear boundary: no checking emails, no mentally running through your to-do list. Give yourself permission to enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
✅ Reflect on the bigger picture. If the Sunday Scaries are a weekly occurrence, it may be time to ask: What is really going on at work? What needs to change?
Stay tuned, I will be sharing Sunday 💡Reflection Prompts to turn Sunday Scaries into something more constructive ✨.
