I was trained under an old fashioned school system that was telling dancers holiday or time off for rest had a negative affect on our progress…We would overwork ourselves to the point of physical and mental exhaustion, that usually led to daily fatigue and injuries but at the same time even when injured we were supposed to push through and carry on…I’m really glad to see that the new stats prove that taking time off to rest is a positive thing and that strong and fundamental technique is not something that goes away overnight.

Burnout is a common problem in ballet that affects dancers at any stage of their career. It's a complex condition characterized by physical and mental exhaustion, reduced performance, and a loss of passion for dance.
