27 years in hospitality gave me the world.

Countries I never imagined I would live and work in.

Experiences that filled me up in ways I never expected.

People who changed everything for me.

And I am so grateful for every single bit of it.

And somewhere in Sicily, eating fried fish and drinking white wine in the sunshine this weekend...

It became very clear.

I have been evolving for several years.

And the best bit hasn’t happened yet.

💫We Used To Brag About 15 Hour Shifts Like They Were Medals.💫

The good old days, the ones you romance about.

But the past hid so much.

I never heard the words “mental health” in this industry when I was younger, you just kept going, till you couldn’t no more.

And I’ve lost loved ones to this industry.

But you know more now and knowing more means you do more.

And many in our industry, including my friends and colleagues, will be looking after others before themselves.

Reach out.
Check in.
And if you can, give someone a hug.

Research shows hugging just one person a day is linked to 35% lower odds of depression and anxiety.

We underestimate connection when things feel heavy.

A hug won’t fix everything, but it reminds people they’re not alone.
