Our first Eurocamp… and definitely not the part of our Italian adventure I expected to make me emotional. 😂🤍
We added 3 days of camping-ish to the end of our trip — cabin, air-con and fully equipped kitchen included, obviously — and somehow it became one of those little parenting moments I know I’ll remember.
The sea was beautiful. The baguettes were excellent. 🥖 The bikes were possibly the best €€ we spent.
But watching the boys cycle off together was my favourite part.
Suddenly they were volunteering for errands, planning what we needed from the supermarket and disappearing off around the campsite feeling VERY grown up.
And it took me straight back to being their age.
There’s something so bittersweet about missing the tiny versions of your children while simultaneously loving the people they’re becoming.
A little more independence.
A little more confidence.
A little further away from you.
Which, I suppose, is exactly what we’re raising them to do. 🤍
Would I give up hotels and become a full-time camping family?
Probably not. 😂
Would I add a few days like this onto another adventure?
100%.
Turns out, simple is kinda chic too. ✨
