If you’re a woman building a business from home and your to-do list feels like it has developed its own personality, try this.
Before you ask, “What should I do first?” ask:
Will this move me closer to clients, clarity, or cash?
That’s the filter.
Clients means anything that helps people find you, trust you, enquire, book, or say yes.
So that might be posting the piece of content, following up with the enquiry, sending the DM, replying to the warm lead, booking the networking call, or making the offer.
Clarity means anything that helps you stop circling and make a decision.
So that might be choosing the offer, deciding who the post is for, mapping the next step, simplifying the goal, or turning “sort out my marketing” into an actual task.
Because a cloud is not a task.
Cash means anything that moves money closer to the business.
So that might be sending the proposal, raising the invoice, following up on the quote, finishing the paid client work, or creating the thing you’re actually selling.
And here’s the important bit:
If a task does not move you closer to clients, clarity or cash, it may still matter.
But it probably does not need your best brain.
The inbox can wait 30 minutes.
The Canva folders will survive.
The tiny admin jobs do not need to hijack your whole morning just because they are easier to start.
When you work for yourself, especially from home, everything can feel urgent because there is no one else structuring your day.
No manager.
No team.
No clear start or finish.
Just you, your business, your home life, and 47 tabs open in your head.
So this isn’t about doing more.
It’s about choosing better.
Today, pick one task that moves you closer to clients, clarity or cash.
Do that before the noise gets in.
Save this for the next time you’re staring at your list thinking, “Where do I even start?”
