Congratulations to client Paul who has been put in a big shift at Hyrox at the weekend! 👏

Paul has been training really hard over the past few months (and has done more burpees than ever 😳), and we have also been measuring recovery and working on mobility.

He has managed to do this despite a busy work schedule and travel

Autumn/Winter Breakfast Recipe

🍂Salted Caramel Walnut Porridge🍂

(Serves 2)

Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons walnuts chopped
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1 & 3/4 cups water
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (tinned)

Date Syrup
- 30g pitted dates soaked in hot water for 10 mins
- 1 & 1/2 tbs coconut milk (tinned)
- pinch of salt

Technique:

- For the date syrup, blend drained dates (reserve the soaking liquid), coconut milk and salt

- Add sufficient date soaking liquid to form a syrup.

- Heat a saucepan over medium heat, add walnuts and toast for 2-3 minutes, shaking saucepan frequently until nuts are golden. Set aside.

- Add oats, cinnamon, salt and water to the saucepan. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer. Add milk and stir constantly for 6-7 minutes until oats are thickened and
cooked through. Remove from heat and stir through half the date syrup.

- Divide porridge between bowls, drizzle over remaining date syrup and top with toasted
walnuts and a pinch of salt.

A sneak peek 🤫 of a Metabolic/RMR report

RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) tells us how many calories we burn going about our daily routines.

With working from home being the new normal, getting out for those daily step is equally important - now more than ever - for body and for mind. (We recommend 10k a day as a good target) 🚶‍♀️

All those small daily movements - getting out for a walk, playing with the kids (or dog!), dancing to your favourite songs on the radio, even hanging out the washing do actually add up quite significantly towards your daily activity level.

Increasing your RMR (gentle daily activity) could be the missing piece of the puzzle if you are finding it difficult to lose body fat.

Yve is a passionate latin, street, ballet & contemporary dancer. Movement has always been her constant. From dance competitions to designing choreography, she has an eye for movement & detail which is something she brings to all of her clients. Yve transitioned into being a personal trainer 6 years ago & has experience teaching spin, boxing, reformer Pilates & Animal Flow. Yve is a qualified massage therapist, which is something everyone at STONE has been benefiting from recently. Outside of exercise, Yve likes to go dancing, spend time in nature and loves watching documentaries!
