Every class starts and ends the same way.

Students line up, bow and take a moment to reset. No phones, no distractions, just focus on the mat.

It is a small ritual, but it says a lot about what traditional martial arts is really about. Respect, structure and doing things with purpose.

We know a lot of families are looking for more than just another activity. They want somewhere their child can grow in confidence, learn discipline and feel part of something meaningful.

That is what this moment represents for us.

Six weeks until the summer holidays. 🌱

Most activities keep kids busy. This one builds something that lasts.

At K*k Sool Won of Erith, students spend the summer getting fitter, more confident, and making friends they'll still be training alongside in September.

Classes run Monday and Wednesday evenings at Erith Leisure Centre — and we have free taster sessions available if your child wants to give it a try before committing to anything.

No pressure. Just come and see what it's like.

Congratulations to our new 1st dahn black belts, who promoted this weekend at the K*k Sool Won European Championships! It's taken you over 4 and half years of determination, hard work, conscientious studying and a lot of sweat to reach this amazing mile stone.

This is also a milestone for the town of Erith. We're the first K*k Sool Won club to have EVER existed in the borough of Bexley! We launched 5 years ago and these are the first homegrown black belts from our town.

May's Sunday workshop is tomorrow.

The K*k Sool Won European Championships is at the end of May, so we'll be talking about tournaments, how they work, and how to prepare ourselves for them. Even for students who aren't planning to compete this will still be a valuable session to learn how tournaments work, develop presentation skills, and how to manage nerves.

Remember gradings are about 3 things:
1. Showing your best etiquette (being kind, respectful, listening to instructions, and focused on the task)
2. Showing the right attitude (doing your best and not giving up, even if it gets hard)
3. Showing off your martial arts skills and knowledge (show how much you've developed and learnt since the last grading)

Wow! What a weekend! It was fantastic to celebrate our 5th birthday last weekend! The goal of the club has always been to create a community where people could come and learn - I think Sunday showed we're nailing that.

Thank you to all the students who came to participate in the celebrations. I hope you enjoyed the class. Well done on the demonstration - many people have been sending me compliments during the week on it!
Thank you to all the students who come each and every week to classes. Without you, it's just me training on my own - we need a group of people to create a community.
Thank you to all the parents and families who support your children and partners on their martial art journey's. Without you they wouldn't be doing what they do.
Thank you to my instructors, Master Nick and Master Andy, for all your help, guidance and support over many many (many) years. And thank you for coming along on Sunday to share your wisdom with our students.
Thank you to the other instructors and students from other clubs across London and Kent who came to celebrate with us. It really showed that we're not just a local community within Erith, but we're part of a much bigger K*k Sool Won community.
Thank you to my wife. Without you there wouldn't be a club. You do more behind the scenes than anyone will ever know. You also did a fantastic job running the food table and cutting the cake on the day (the photo of me cutting was just for show - you deserve the real credit).
And thank you to Belle's Bakery in Welling who produced the delicious cakes for everyone to enjoy!

Tomorrow is our 5th Anniversary Special event.

Yes, our first class was Monday 18th January 2021. We started as Zoom classes during the pandemic lockdown... and look what we've grown into!

To celebrate, instead of our usual Sunday workshop we're putting on something different, aligned to the goals of our club: to be a place of learning and to be a community.

Timings for the day are:
11am - 12.30pm: Class
12.30pm - 1pm: Demonstration
1pm - 2pm: Social and cake
