Some things to consider when leg pressing. 🤷‍♂️ ⁣


3 main considerations in the video:⁣

1. Use a pad/block at the bottom of your back to prevent your lower back coming away from the seat.⁣

2. Find your OWN foot placement. As low on the footplate at as possible to the point where your heels do not lose contact.⁣

3. Point toes out to where comfortable and drive knees to the side of your torso to create more ROM.⁣


Some honourable mentions:⁣

1. Footwear is important. Nothing with a flat sole? Remove them and go shoeless.⁣

2. Pull yourself down into the seat throughout the exercise to create as much stability as possible. (This should go without saying!)⁣

3. STOP trying to make this a glute/ham exercise, there are better options for both.⁣

Stop going through the motions. ❌ ⁣


Training cues are very useful and help us perform exercises correctly and accurately.⁣


Here is a cue I personally love to use when performing a chest supported row.⁣


‘On the eccentric portion of the movement, think about covering your chest with your shoulders’⁣


This will allow us to fully protract our scapula before initiating the concentric portion of the movement.⁣

Consistently SHOWS UP and strives for progression in every session despite being very busy and active at work every day.⁣


Big one in Benidorm along with plenty of social events between these pictures also - YOU CAN DO BOTH as long as you're willing to work.⁣

Comfortably sat around 92/93kg without any desire to push up or pull back on food. 😄

Training is going very well and in a very good place in terms of work/life balance.

ALL of my clients are putting in serious effort which makes work MUCH more enjoyable.

How long should your training sessions be if the goal is to build muscle?⁣


Unfortunately there's no definitive answer however there are some things you NEED to consider.⁣


How much time do you have?⁣


What is your training split?⁣


How are your sessions structured?⁣


What are your personal recovery capabilities?⁣


Do you have the time to optimise your training?⁣


up arrow Just SOME of this things we need to consider.⁣


Now realistically you can get in an efficient session in around 45 minutes.⁣


Is it ideal? Probably not, no.⁣


On the other hand, if you have all the time in the world and are fuelled for the session a training session could take upwards of 2.5 hours.⁣


Again, probably not ideal for EVERYONE.⁣



There is definitely a sweet spot for most and if you're struggling to find yours, drop me a DM with any questions you may have.⁣ 🤷‍♂️

She absolutely smashed it, taking on board everything I put across to her on a weekly basis.⁣

BB Back Squat:⁣
60kg x 9 -> 80kg x 9⁣ 🚀

BB Bench Press:⁣
32.5kg x 6 -> 42.5kg x 7⁣ 🚀

Hip Thrust:⁣
100kg x 8 -> 152.5 x 8⁣ 🚀


⬆️ Just SOME of the insane strength progressions that Emily has made!⁣


Emily achieved all of this during her final year at university meaning studies and a good social were also a big part of her life.⁣

Hypertrophy the goal?

If you’re following me, there’s a high chance that packing on muscle is your main priority within your training.

If putting on size as quickly as possible IS the goal, eating in a caloric surplus is probably wise…

Starting with as little of a surplus as possible is going to give us a long runway for progression and give us plenty of calories to play with.

Although this is not always completely necessary 🤷‍♂️

Yes, putting on muscle when not in a surplus is possible.

Hypertrophy is a signal response, not an energy response - remember that.

Training hard with sufficient protein intake and adequate sleep IS enough.

Will you pack on muscle quickly? Probably not. Will it be optimal? Definitely not.

Some harsh truths.

It’s very easy to pass exhaustion on to things such as:

Not having your coffee this morning ❌

Or

Needing a new multivitamin supplement? ❌

Don’t get me wrong…

Exhaustion may be due to underlying issues and deficiencies but it’s very easy to blame it on that when your lifestyle is s**t.

Focus on the above first.

Nah.⁣



Do nothing... literally.⁣



Jump back on where you left off, your progress has not gone to s**t.⁣
