After being barely present at any Barts socials for the first two years of universityšŸ„±, Vivan has decided to become social secretary of golf šŸ’‹ā›³ļø.Youā€™ll be able to recognise him from his international school accent and resting smize face. Top tip-donā€™t smile āŒāŒnext to him in pictures unless you want to look extremely unnaturally happy in comparison to himšŸ˜†šŸ„¹šŸ˜. Vivan has a habit of hyperfixating on places for a while, as of now heā€™s racking up his Joe and the Juice points but when exam season rolls around, his diet is 100% Smokin WokšŸ„”šŸ„¢ (say you know him at the till for a discountšŸ¤‘šŸ’ø). Weā€™re excited to see what our favourite performative male has in store for socials this year-just donā€™t ask him what his trim was like at the start of Y2ā€¦

With her golf skill (or lack thereof) āŒ ā›³ļø forcing her into being a social member, Molly has rightly taken up being this yearā€™s Social Secā€¦ a responsibility she is sure to try dodge in favour of a trip to the nearest Brandy Melville šŸ›ļø. If sheā€™s not schooling you with her unnecessarily good geography šŸŒ knowledge, or participating in the latest microtrend, sheā€™s definitely watching edits of the next tv show she wants to make her personality ( heads up itā€™s Industry rn šŸ“ˆšŸ“ˆ). However, her hangout-never-ends personality and a love hate relationship with white wine sets her up well to be one of Golfā€™s most memorable Social Secs (right behind the much cooler, other social sec šŸ‘€). Perhaps the finest social sec in the clubā€™s history, Luke now brings his expertise to the role of Treasurer šŸ¤‘. He promises that our money is in good hands, evidenced by his maths GCSE and not much else. His limited years of golfing experience and his unique swing make him a real threat to anyone near the golf course. Luke has a strong stoic presence, he remains unphased no matter how many pints are put in his face šŸ—æ. Just watch out, you might see his ā€œbrotherly loveā€ for Marlen on full display šŸ«‚
But seriously Luke is a fantastic role model, heā€™s even been described as a mentor to our beloved freshers. Famous for single-handedly putting together the most lavish pubgolfs, heā€™s certainly one of Golfā€™s most valuable. We canā€™t wait to see what he has in store for the club this yearā€¦

Nav has been dedicated to Golf since time began. After a historic year as president, he returns for his third year as Captain.
Due to his advanced age he occasionally drifts away and starts rambling about the good old days when there were at least semi decent golfers in the club. He is proud to tell everyone that he is a 2 handicap golfer. Sadly he has to explain this to a crowd that has no idea what heā€™s talking about.
But this man is no stranger to serious golf and serious competition. Bringing a wealth of experience on and off the course, he is expecting big things for his final round at Bartsā€¦

Following a year as the clubā€™s second best social sec, Marlen thinks he has what it takes to be our VP. Even if he rarely managed to show up to socials on time, he is making up for it by slowly improving his game. He finally knows the name of each club in his golf bag, and is now brave enough to step onto a golf course. Shockingly his biggest rival is a certain footballer whoā€™s played golf less than 3 times in his life.
Our dear Marlen is a man with many hobbies, but remarkably he has no talent for any of them. For example he may claim to be a master guitarist, but in reality he can barely play 3 songs.
In fairness he always proves himself on a night out. Marlen has never been a stranger to tables. Youā€™ll soon recognise his signature move, keeping his hand in front of his face while he composes himself after 2 pints.
At the end of the day, Marlen is the heart and soul of QMBL Golf. We all know he will make a fine VP and shape our clubā€™s future in a big way.

Ladies and gentleman I am disappointed to introduce our newest president: Ashvin. Where to even begin with this bloke. To start with, he is one of the few members of the society who can ā€œsuccessfullyā€ swing a golf club. However he has clearly shown that being subpar at golf does not mean youā€™re good at socialising. Ashvin spent his fresher year in the shadows and was unknown to many, even ones he shared a flat with. This may be due to his calm collected persona, or the fact heā€™d want to live in a separate house to his wife (direct quote btw). Looking at the social aspect, Ashvin was always there. Unfortunately this being there in spirit. This may be due to his inability to consume alcohol as ā€œhis throat closes up.ā€ However, the few times he has made an appearance, he starts speaking gobbledygook within the first hour. All we know is that the qmbl golf is in good hands and weā€™re excited to see where Ashvin leads us.
